Try connecting an extra wire from the case of the regulator 'can' (one of the mounting bolts) to the negative battery terminal and doing your voltage test again. If it fixes it, it means that the regulator earth connections (or the battery negative to frame wire) are dirty and not doing their job. This is very common, because the regulator wires are up front in wind and dirt.

But lately it has been more varied. Basically voltage is low at start-up (typ. 11-12V) and it doesn't increase with engine rpm. But switching the lights off for a few seconds always brings the voltage up to a higher level (13-14V) it only falls slightly when the lights are turned on again. It then (usually) sinks slowly and lights off-on will (usually) bring it back up again. Does this behaviour indicate where the fault is?,Sounds like the battery is on the way out.,,,

For seca 763 having problem with the display. All led segment was displayed and weight is varying.Kindly help.

Try weighing an inanimate object, is the weight stable? Maybe you're stabalizing yourself by holding on to something? That will throw it off. all weight must be on the base and not moving to get an accurate reading. If it's still unstable it need new weight sensors and calibration. Probably not a DIY.

Automobile oil meter is not accurate.

On the decline of oil gauge pointer speed rate is not the same of this phenomenon, there may be a design issue, it is not in accordance with the linear design of some models of the oil itself, slow, fast before the half after the half of this phenomenon should be relatively normal. Oil table pointer is not stable, may be the level sensor oil gauge problem. If confirmed to fill the oil, no table pointer is not the top, should be the meter display problems. These problems to a repair shop on it. Use obd2 for automotive diagnostics , you can improve vehicle safety performance and driving more safer.

Engine randomly dies off then goes again

sounds like a fuel issue when storing are you using stable the new fuels don't seem to last as long and do cause issues after sitting for a while the stable helps preserve the fuel and keeps injectors as well as the rest of the fuel system in tack

Screen unstable on my versapro

Connect a spare monitor to the video output, if the same! the Video Graphics Card is defective, normally built into the motherboard. But if you get a stable image, it indicates a bad LCD display, however! in rare cases the video cable becomes loose and needs to be re-inserted.

Bought new LED indicators for my Legend and changed the flasher unit to suit. They flash at proper speed when engine not running, but increase in frequency the more revs are applied. Any ideas, please?

I would check the battery voltage and ensure the battery voltage doesn't go above 14 volts. There may be a regulator fault. If all reads OK with a meter, replace the flasher unit for a more stable one.
Hope this helps and ride safely.

RPM is too high when i start, then goes down when on Drive. What could be the cause? Throttle Body? (landrover discovery 98)

RPM meter regulator springs may be loose on the inside of the dashboard. So long as there is no mechanical failures either usual engine capacity, no obervable capacity malfunctions, the dashboard screws are probably loose due to rigorous terrains encounters. Depending on the type of dashboard, the particular loose spring may be replaceable. Else, an entire dashboard area containing the display meter readings would require replacement due to compartibility parts requirements.

The 'Battery' dashboard warning light has come on. What are the possible causes of this...bad battery, alternator, belt? 2003 Toyota Sienna

usually this indicates that the alternator is not charging you need to check the charge rate either with DC volt meter or a multi meter that is capable of DC voltage reading, the voltage when the engine is running should be between 13.8 & 14.3 volts if it is not the alternator or the voltage regulator is faulty, also check for loose wiring or bad connections.....hope this helps.....cheers
