New brushes rectifier and voltage regulator. The dynamo delivers 14V up to excactly 4000 rpm no charging over 4000rpm at all Do i need to change to rotor in the dynamo ?More likely: a) one of the new parts you put on is defective b) you put one (or more...) of them on wrongly If you had the rotor off, make sure it is properly back on and running concentric with the shaft. _Possibly_ it is running with a wobble and bouncing the brushes off the slip rings.,,,

Alternator circuits

These older cars do suffer from the plastic insulation breaking down so dont touch it but take the warning light cable off the alternator and run a new wire to the bulb but be carefull as if you pull the wiring loom then you will get even more faults ,best advice here is to remove the loom ,take the covering off then put it on a big table and a box of connectors and make a new loom its easier than you think

2001 subaru legacy charging problem

Does the alternator check light light up when you turn the ignition on?
If not the connection from the dash board to the alternator is not there for what ever reason, might be the wiring loom of the bulb, or the alternator it self. If this all works its worth to check Ground between alternator and battery, should be around 0 Ohm, and check also the B+ wire from the back of the alternator to + terminal of the battery, this should be also 0Ohm.

I have a pride cleberity x...when i plug in the batt. charger..will not charge...checked all fuze's

Sounds like wiring loom or simply the charger is broken. Do you get both lights on the charger or just the power light? Should be a 5 amp charger on those if im not mistaken. Best bet is to get a multimeter, disconect one wire from the one of the batteries and put your multimeter wires between the disconnected battery lead and the battery terminal from which you disconnected it. Put the multimeter on the the 10 amp setting and switch on the charger. See what the reading is. If its zero or very low, would more than likely indicate a faulty charger but still could be the loom or even the scooters main control box, as the charging loom is usuall connected through this. Hope this helps.

84 ford F350 6.9 diesel charging system not charging batterys new alt,New voltage regulator, new positive and negative wires,

look for a fusible link out. You need to check for output on the alternator that you installed. make sure the batteries are fully charged before that, otherwise its not going to read right. start from the source. also, you can disconnect the batteries from the sys and do a continuity check on the wires in the loom, so you can see if current has a path, or if you have an open circuit. hope this helps

Battery keeps loosing charge- kymco cruiser 125, 2005

I had this exact same problem on a hipster 125, it was a faulty regulator module ( mounted under the seat) I also found a short circuit (somewhere) in the wiring loom between the regulator output and the chassis (probably what killed the regulator in the first place!) I cut and replaced the entire wire to save removing most of the loom and after testing reg to ensure it was dead i fitted a new one (about £60) bike charges and runs like a dream now even with fully lights approx 80% of the time. good luck

the loom refers to the whole wiring harness for your bike, without it your bike will be useless

Battery not charging 2003 triumph rs any ideas wear to start to solve problem have replaced battery

check for charging system voltage to battery by testing for 13-15volts dc across battery posts w/ multimeter while bike is running.if less, check for ac voltage to regulator/rectifier w/ multimeter while bike is running.if there is voltge to module, it is most likely defective.if there is no voltage to module,follow wire loom from voltage reg. to electrical connector plug.unplug it, start bike, test for ac voltage at other side of connector on the electrical pins on the loom coming from the engine. if no power there, the charging coil, or the wiring from the coil is defect.
