Engine wont run after warm up and no choke


Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel cap or fuel tank is not venting properly.
2. Fuel filter clogged.
3. Fuel line pinched or kinked.
4. Float needle and seat sticking.
5. Float level too low.
6. Carburetor bowl vent line clogged/blocked/pinched.
7. Idle adjusting screw set too low.
8. Air/fuel mixture screw set too lean.
9. Idle port, transfer ports, slow air jet clogged.
10. Slow fuel jet clogged.
11. Faulty fuel pump.

Why does my yz250f stall?


Hi, Dillz4life and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, should have 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
2. Failed alternator/generator and or voltage regulator.
3. Loose or corroded battery terminals and or cables especially the "NEGATIVE" cable, look for loose, corroded, or broken connectors inside the cable harness at "BOTH" ends.
4. Failed main circuit breaker or ignition switch, check for loose connections and continuity.
5. Failed system and or ignition relay, check for continuity.
6. Failed ignition coil, ignition/electronic module.
7. Failed CKP, CPS, CMP, MAP, TPS, or BAS sensor, corroded, loose or broken wire connector pins/sockets.
8. Throttle cables and or idle speed improperly adjusted hot idle speed should be 950 RPM to 1000 RPM.
9. Air/fuel mixture screw improperly adjusted.
10. Accelerator pump damaged or not working.
11. Water or dirt in the fuel system, carburetor or filter.
12. Restricted, blocked or kinked fuel line.
13. Fuel tank empty.
14. The gas cap is not venting properly or fuel tank venting system blocked.
15. A failed fuel pump, pressure regulator and or fuel injectors.
16. Vacuum line from intake manifold to petcock broken, cracked, or not attached, carburetor vent line plugged.
17. Needle and seat stuck closed in the float bowl.

Why does my 04 yz250f run to hot

04 yz250f pipe at motor glowing red hot


Any reason you had to change the jetting??New pipe,Intakes.?But,even though you may have it a bit rich on idle the pipes WILL get very hot,very quickly without some sort of air flow over the front of the motor and radiator.At the very least,have a strong fan blowing directly on the front of the motor if you are going to let the bike run and you are not riding it.I have seen the white plastics in front of the radiator distort from the radiant heat.Don't idle them for in more then 20 seconds.It can do heaps of damage.Ride the bike and see if its running well.When you stop,turn it off.All the yz and wrf will get very hot at idle.Hope this helps

I have a 04 yz250f that over heats at idle ?


All of the yzf,wrf models WILL overheat at idle.They need air to be going through the radiator at all times.What this means is if you are going to be stopped,for anything but a very short time,turn the motor off.Even after a short time the header pipes may start to glow.These motors are quite high performance and they need the air flow.Hope this helps

Tire maintenance


Check your tire air pressure at least once a week and before long trips. Be sure to use an accurate pressure gauge. -Check your air pressure when the tires are cold. The tires are cold when your motorcycle has been ridden less than a mile at moderate speed or after being stopped for three or more hours. -If you must add air when your tires are hot, add four pounds per square inch (4 psi)(28 kPa) above the recommended cold inflation pressure. Recheck the inflation pressure when the tire is cold. -Never release air from a hot tire in order to reach the recommended cold tire pressure. -Normal riding causes tires to run hotter and inflation pressure to increase. If you release air when your tires are hot, you may dangerously under inflate your tires. -If your tires lose more than two pounds per square inch (2 psi)(14 kPa) per month, the tire, the valve, or wheel may be damaged. Consult your local dealer for an inspection. -Use valve caps to keep valve cores clean, clear of debris and to help guard against air leakage.

its more what you ride the softer the dirt the lower the psi the harder/rockyer the more psi you need normally you buy bikes with 14-15 psi
