He always over-heats his 450. Everytime he pulls off the track he has little to no coolant left. He's tried to mess with the carburator but unfortunatly that is not fixing the problem. I'm not sure if he's tried the water wetter yet, but I know he's been thinking about it. Anybody else have any suggestions on how to keep this 450 cooled down while riding? It's gotta be a pain in the ass to fill the radiators with coolant everytime you pull off the track,Adjusting the carb will not solve the problem. It has to be leaking out someplace obviously. Could be a head gasket, could be a bad thermostat or it could be leaking. How hard is he riding it. Also maybe he should try flushing his system out good and trying Engine Ice. Also he could try leaving the Rad cap on the setting where it is slightly off to help release pressure.,,,

Hi, Anonymous for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. I have an early to mid nineties 300 suzuki quad. It will run ro 20 minutes or so until it gets hot then lose power. Once it cools off it will run fine again.Any thoughts on what causes this.

i vaguely remember this happening on a friends blaster. look around the engine for a resistor or other electronic device. On his, that was too close to the engine and would overheat, causing it to die. After the bike cooled off, it would run fine for about 20 min, then it would happen again.

Hope this helps
