Question about 2002 KTM MXC 400 Racing

1 Answer

Noisy gear I finally got to ride my 400 MXC yesterday and instantly fell in love with it. One thing that I did notice was that the gearbox seemed to make more noise than my XR400 makes. It did not sound like things were coming apart just a little bit noisier than the XR. Is this normal for this bike? It also sounded like there was a lot of backlash noise when I would hit the rear brake with the clutch in. I did check the chain tension and it was normal. I am almost sure all of it is normal for this bike but I thought I would throw it out there to see if anyone else has noticed it. Thanks

Yep normal. All my KTM's do that. I don't even hear it anymore because it's mentally filtered out. ;),

Model types

which one would be the best?First of all there is no sxc it's sx exc mxc. The difference in the sx and exc is the sx is strickly a mottocross bike. It is not geared or setup suspension wise to ride in the woods. It is much more radical than an exc which is designed specifically for woods riding.,,,
