Question about 2002 KTM MXC 250

1 Answer

Start I took a friend of mine trail riding yesterday and he used my 250f we got about halfway through the trail and all of a sudden he said the bike shut off and that was it. It hasn't started again i assumed it was the pplug at first so i went to the truck and got a plug but still nothing. So i assumed it was the carb so i took it off and before i cleaned it i twisted the throttle while it was off and there was a good stream of gas but i cleaned it anyway. Cleaned my filter still no start. Checked my timing and it's all aligned right. Valve clearances are perfect. Still no start my compression tester was for my 125 and it doesn't fit in my plug hole so i didn't check that

. but i don't get a pop or nothing just kicking and kicking and nothing happens any help would be appreciated. Plug has fire also but maybe some other electronics are messed up so if anyone knows how to troubleshoot electronics on this bike that would help alot. This might sound weird but did anything happen to the killswitch wire? If it got pulled on or something it could have come loose, causing it to act like it's being held down and not restart. I had this problem on my 125...put a new one in, and haven't had a problem since.,,,

Exhaust pipe turns red hot Yamaha yzf

Hi, Anonymous a YZ is a motocross bike designed to run flat out that being said if you are strolling down some scenic trail at a slow pace or letting the bike idle for a few minutes your header pipe will turn cherry red, why you ask? It is not a street bike, it is designed for competition and weight is a major factor all necessary components are of the smallest and lightest design necessary to maintain performance under extreme conditions ie. small radiator and inside frame oil reservoir that doesn't get cooled, the majority of your riding needs to be at high speed.
For more information about your issue and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please click on the links below. Good luck and have a nice day.

I have just bought a Yamaha warrior 2003 model and went for a ride yesterday with my neighboor who has the same bike. We swapped bikes for a while and the ride on his bike was so much softer. We looked at...

There are two spring tensions used. 127 or 137N/mm.
Be carefull adjusting the unit because over-adjustment can release the mechanism and spring with disasterous results.
At one end of the unit are a pair of half nuts. One of which, the outermost, is the lock nut.
With two spanners, release the lock nut. Screwing the adjustment nut in will increase the tension.
I have a Buel M2 and a friend of mine adjusted the tension too low. He went over a trough in the road at speed leaving the rear numberplate and lights behind!

I hope that helps and ride safe!

Is this bike for racing only?

I race mine (it's a 2009), but I also trail ride with it. It's good either way.

My 2004 rmz 250 overheating

trail riding d'idnt provided enough air to make you're bike running cooler..and get you're head to warp a little and let pressure in you're cooling system. at least i would try a new gasket and some coolanol coolant to put in after....they get faster heat transfer..also you can put a higher pressure radiator cap that will keep in you're coolant...
