Question about 2003 HM Motard 450 F

Pipes cleaning I have a 07 motard 450 f that iam puting roadburner 2.5 pipes on.pipes come with standard spiral louvered core baffles.also puting K&N airfilter in it and jeting.will this bump HP up any or hurt it?

From what I can find online it seems to be performance pipes so I'd say boost. (Of course leaving the stock baffles in.) Stock VTX1300R is rated at 75 HP so you're probably looking at about 80-85 HP depending on how generously you rejet. If you've gotta pass emissions and don't wanna rejet before each time I'd say about 78-80 if you go full race to heck with fuel efficiency I want power you could probably pull 85 with the stock carb. My suzuki gsxr 1000 k3 will start then cut out six times before it runs properly on its own in the cold


Instructions
  1. Take Down
    • 1 Park the motorcycle on the kickstand or center stand and allow the exhaust pipes to cool completely.
    • 2 Refer to your Suzuki service manual and organize the metric tools needed to remove the baffle. On newer models, it may be necessary to remove the tailpipe section to modify the baffle. On older models, you may be directed to remove a bolt that secures the baffle in the tailpipe.
    • Follow the procedure given in the manual and remove the tailpipe section or slide-in baffle using the appropriate tools. Save any brackets or bolts. Place the tailpipe or baffle on a workbench.
    Tailpipe Baffles
    • 4 Hold one end the tailpipe up to a light and look inside the other end. Depending on the baffle, you may see very little light or none at all. Modifying the baffle is a matter of opening up areas in the baffle.
    • 5 Chuck a 1/4-inch drill bit in an electric drill. Use a bit extension if necessary to reach deep into the tailpipe with the drill bit.
    • 6 Place the tailpipe on a workbench. Use a towel or rags to prevent scratching the finish. Insert the tip of the drill bit into the tailpipe and drill a 1/4-inch hole in the baffle.
    • 7 Hold the tailpipe up to the light again. Determine the number of additional holes you want based on the purpose of the modification. Drill additional holes in the baffle if needed.
    • 8 Stand the tailpipe on end and tap it on the workbench to clear the debris from drilling out of the baffle. Make sure all debris is cleared out before reinstalling the tailpipe on the motorcycle.
    Slide-In Baffles
    • 9 Secure the outer end of the baffle in a bench vise with the baffle extending to one side. The outer end has the threaded hole where the bolt was removed to take the baffle out of the exhaust pipe.
    • 10 Measure the length of the baffle and divide it by four. You modify a slide-in baffle by cutting off a one-quarter section at a time using a hacksaw. Mark the baffle at the one-quarter point and cut the first section off the end.
    • 11 Reinstall the baffle in the exhaust pipe using the saved bolt and the metric tool.
      Start the motorcycle and determine if the modification produced the desired result.
    • 12 Allow the exhaust pipe to cool completely before removing the baffle for further modification. Most likely, cutting one or two quarter sections will give you the result you want. Avoid cutting too much off the baffle, or it will be useless.

Have 07 xl1200c sportster how can i make exhaust louder have standard pipes on dont want it to loud just more of a deep thud money tight dont want to keep with original pipes for now


Screamin Eagle mufflers work well. I've been running a set on a Dyna Wide Glide for years. They're not as loud as straight pipes. They come with removable baffles, I think. It's been years since I've mess with them but they used to. Also, some pipe manufacturers made "slip on" muffler replacements. They're much better for performance too as they present the engine with a bit of backpressure that the drag pipes do not.

Your engine does not have hydraulic lifters. It is a dual OHC ( Over Head Cam ) setup and has an adjustable valve lash. It is not to costly to have a shop reset the valve lash. I strongly suggest you have a dealer's service department inspect the bike before you buy it. The factory pipes do not have removable baffles. Know one thing; most dealers will not work on a bike over 10 years old. Yours is almost 10. Parts availability is the problem. $450 is the approximate parts cost to replace both pipes. CRF450R '07 model has cracked the left crankcase from the clutch pivot arm all the way across the top of the main bearing. Is this a common problem? Honda had 3 left cases in stock!! The bike is used for...


if you are pushing to much power it is common to break something inturnal that would in return slap the crankcase. and if the case is hit pretty hard it will crack.

Front pipe gets red hot as soon as the bike stars up


Muffler or baffle obstructed or something in the exhaust is stopping the flow.dom not run this engine it will burn-up.You may be using too high an octane fuel also.

Pulsar 150 - Some knocking after i got a service 3 days back...


It could be the exhaust baffles which are in the exhaust pipe tht have given away, you can remove the exhaust pipe assy and get it cut underneath and get the baffles electric welded..or rather spot welded and weld the exhaust back but the chrome will burn off and rust may thn take over ..or unless you paint tht area black( heat ressistant paint.),or better off is to replace the complete exhaust pipe assy.

Gas Milage


after a drz. 5000 km had to replace tp switch after a particularly wet ride .(coroded connection) love the bike only beef was the hard seat (now sorted ) and small fuel tank, i will order one from clarkes, only getting 80 km per tank.? Question 1 what do others get ? Question 2 is the original lean map tuneable ie for transport sections.,Yeah I get 80kms per tank in single track. I have a Clark tank coming for it. Keep the electrical connections clean and you will have no worries. Use an electrical grease or Lanotec.. I choose to check and keep them dry regularly. I wouldn't run between both maps personally. I can get over 100km on fire trails with the standard tank. I have a softer seat now. Higher and more cushion.. Although if you go through your dealer they can get you an 08 seat cheaper than retail as there was a deal going on for 07 owners..,,,
