Car smoking coolant full heater works sometime doesnt show hot

If there is white smoke (coolant) coming from the exhaust then the head gasket has blown out, the reason the car doesn't show over heating is because there is no coolant going over the sensor and not enoughto circulate thru the heater core.

Car overheats due to all the coolant being pushed out the reservoir overflow hose after it runs for about 10mins.

You have the cart before the horse ... the coolant is being pushed out because the car is over heating ... not the car is over heating because the coolant is being pushed out.

When the coolant gets hot ... too hot ... it expands and it has to go somewhere. If your car is overheating, there is a reason for it ... clogged radiator, insufficient coolant ... extreme environmental heat ... blocked radiator ... too much demand on the cooling system due to heavy loading ...

You need to have a professional mechanic take a look for the real reason your car is overheating ... BEFORE YOU DAMAGE YOUR ENGINE AND COOLING SYSTEM.

Leaking water coolant from rear of bike

sounds like a blown head gasket.take it to a repaire shop and have it pressure tested.

Temperature gauge keeps spiking up and when it gets "hot" the heat shuts off.

have the cooling system checked for exhaust, its called a block test, also have thermostat checked and make sure coolant is full.

Heater blows cold air for 20min then blows hot

There are a few things that can cause this problem. Reason #1 a low coolant level can cause the heater core to receive less coolant flow hence causing the heat to come less quickly. reason #2 sticky heater control valve, if this control valve is stuck closed coolant cant enter the heater core hense wont heat up the cabin, reason #3 clogged heater core, over time some heater cores will clog up even sometimes start to leak in cabin. All these are normal circumstances and should be checked. Good luck

Coolant leak on 96 olds ciera 3.1

Head gasket. The reason for the cold then hot readings is the cooling system is getting gas bound by exhaust gases. A simple intake leak would just make you loose fluid, but wouldn't cause the other symptoms until the coolant was very low. Which leads me to, is the coolant full? The head gasket most of the time will not leak coolant into the oil, but instead coolant will go into the combustion chamber, and exhaust gasses will go into the coolant. You don't see any white smoke until the leak gets extreme. Then shortly after that the engine hydro locks from too much coolant in the combustion chamber. There is a tester that will test your coolant for CO gas. That is the proof of a head gasket leak.

Ok when i am drivin my car the check engine light and the temperature light comes on, it doesnt have a guage so i cannot tell if it is just coming on because of a short or what, it only does it when it...

One thing that may be causing problems for you, and it would probably be the first thing I would check is your catalytic converter for being plugged. Engine bogs, and manifold red hot, temperature light, would be reason enough for me to get that checked. Years ago, you could buy what they referred to as a test pipe, for that, which was basically a piece of exhaust pipe put in place of converter, which I suspect any custom exhaust place with bender, can fabricate for you, if necessary. Check oil & coolant levels too, as oil may be experiencing premature thinning due to excessive heat, as well as coolant level going down. Hopefully if it is confirmed converter is problem, we caught it soon enough .
