Fast as hell but when its warmed up and i slow down or stop i get a popping noise sometimes its a low rumble popping some times it really pops loud. adjusted valvestiming is dead on already cleaned carbs and gaped and installed new plugs.still pops but only when good and warm. one thing i find strange is that the #4 cylinder runs 100 degrees cooler than the rest. i found this out by holding a handheld gauge at the same distance from all 4 of my pipes. i am really lost here any help would be greatd say the cool cylinder is running richer that the other three. Lean mixtures will pop when deaccelerating. Make sure all four carbs have the same main jets and intermediate jets with the needles set the same.,,,

Hi,my name is bobby,i have an 71 gto 455 ho motor,i put it into a 79 t/a.i changed it from points dist. to a havin a real hard time settin the timing, the book says set it at 12 degrees

Put the timing mark on the balancer at 0 degrees with the piston at top dead center. (piston at the top with both valves closed). Follow the #1 spark plug wire to the dist. cap and set the dist in so the rotor lines up with the the # 1 wire. Make sure the dist. is "seated" all the way. You might have to turn the engine a little to get it to seat fully. You set the timing with a light AFTER you start the engine. If you put the dist. in in the right spot you need only turn it very little either way to start the engine.

04 crf450.hard start when cold(25deg).kick for 10min.once it

1. First thing is when was the last time you had your valves adjusted
2. On cold start up twist about 15 times on your throttle, as you do that the accelerator pump in carb will shot gas in cylinder, I have a 2003 yx426 & 2005 yz450 have to do to both of them when cold out to get started

Starting The Bike On A Cold Morning

The heater will not work.Do you pull the choke cable? Is your carb assemblies cleaned and adjusted properly?I assume that your fuel pump works fine.

Yamaha 660 raptor dies when choke is tuned off

hello I am Vortash .. I would say your problem is either blocked idler jets or incorrect fuel mixture ( Air to fuel not correct ) take the bike to your local garage to use their air line unless you have a compressor of your own remove the fuel feed tank side and blow it through with the airline if this don't cure it you will probably need to have the carbs tuned to manufacturesr spec's , If you are more mechanicaly minded strip the idler jets out pass a fine strip of wire through them and replace .You can also get this problem if you have an air leak on the maniflod or the carb bowl etc hope this helps regards Vortash

Bike wont idle and power constantly dieing and recovering

check to see if you have gas in the oil from a carb leaking down which will cause the idle speed to drop when motor warms up.pick up idle run for awhile then plugs you said a carby problem.
