I'm very guilty of not adjusting my chain the entire time I've been riding - which is 2503 miles. I was looking over my bike and the chain is hanging low on the top and rubbing in to the chain guard. I don't have the time to get a replacement cotter pin to attempt adjusting it myself. So I have four questions: 1) How much should it cost for a shop to adjust my chain? 2) How does this compare to replacing the chain and sprockets? 3) How hard is it to adjust the chain yourself? The most important thing to me is being able to keep the alignment appropriately through the whole procedure. 4) What is the highest reliability chain (longest endurance) for a bike that rides a lot of highway miles. I described chain adjustment on my bike --http://totalmotorcycle.com/BBS/viewtopic.php?p=64704&highlight#64704,,

How do you put the chian on an schwinn s600 SD scooter

Hi Mark, for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix/test or parts inquiry. If necessary transport your vehicle to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your issue. For more information about your issue please visit the website below. Good luck and have a nice day.

How do i adjust the hear shocks for pillian weight?

This is directly from the 2008 VRSC Service Manual:

Make sure both shocks have the same preload.

The average weight solo rider might use the extended spring
preload position (adjustment setting 1 or 2).

1. Place the shock absorber adjustment tool around the lower
collar of the shock absorber.

2. Turn the collar clockwise (toward higher numbers) to
increase the preload or pressure.

Use the adjustment setting numbers as a reference for equal
adjustment of shock absorbers on both the right and left side
of the motorcycle. A heavy solo rider might require additional
preload or pressure (adjustment setting 3).

Adding a passenger may require maximum preload (adjustment
setting 5).

Turn the collar counterclockwise to decrease the preload or
pressure.

Adjust primary chian

The primary chain adjuster is at the bottom of the engine below the shifter - looks like a big nit in a shaft that has a allen key hole in it. loosen the nut and turn the bolt. Adjust per the manual.

I know its a stupid qeustion but where exactly on the motorcycle is the air screw and throttle screw. I have a 2007 Suzuki rm125.

The air mixture needle valve is on the Carb. Throttle screw as you call it, you might be referring to 1- throttle adjustment at the twist throttle hand grip. 2- At the top of the carb is a throttle cable adjustment 3- some times somewhere between the twist grip and the carb there is an adjustment.4- there is also a idle adjustment at the carb.3a37cbb.png

Engine heating up think it cuz of points or timing off. want to know how to fix

3 things can make a engine run hot

1 lean fuel mixture

2 late in spark timing

3 timing chian is stretched

1 check spark plug colour to determine if burning lean

2 advance timing, on points turn plate but eletronic need to change pick-coil loaction

3 adjust chain tensioner or major overhaul replace chain, would need to get a manual for this repair

Does 610 electric start engine fit in 610 kick start only frame

Hi,

It can be done, but will cost an arm and a leg. The main casings will have to be replaced. This means the motor will have to split and rebuit.
I would suggest that you give the motor a good service. This means doing the shims as well.

This is a good motor, and generally do not suffer from starting issues.
If you stuggle, let your local dealer do the necessary servicing.

Cheers
Jon
