Hi, guys i m intrested to buy a 93 shadow bobber and i saw 1 . it looks very clean standard engine but havent rode it yet. Its an old bike and without a speedo, and im a bit blind to buy it.. so, my...

Lack of a speedo ... is also a lack of miles the bike has been ridden. Such a bike would have little value in my estimate. It would have to ride really well for a 20 year old bike, have a good sounding engine and shift smoothly. Check the oil for thickness and cleanliness. Be prepared to replace rubber parts, cables, etc. Are you looking for a short time ride? Low price, ride it till it stops and push it to the side of the road ... or are you in the "restore my dream" mode? If the latter, have a pocket full of money. Just MHO.

Tip

Bad gas and motorcycles

As you all have noticed lately the gas we are getting with the additives and ethonal and no telling what is in it. the gas is playing havic of motorcycles with the clogged carburators, stuck fuel injectors, locked up fuel pumps, sticking valves so on and so forth.
my tip for all motorcycle riders is that most motorcycles benifit from running hi-test fuel in them. but all fuel is not the same and if you find your bike not running so good on the fuel you are using, change it! go to another station buy gas from different staions untill you find one that your bike runs good on. never park your bike with a empty tank! the more air in your tank the faster the fuel will go bad on you, so always store your bike with a full tank of gas and you will have a better chance of the gas not going bad on you. when you find your self out on the road with no gas staions to chouse from and have to get gas, be aware if you have to get gas from the little hole in the wall mom and pop gas staion in the middle of nowhere DO NOT BUY HI-TEST!! these stations do not sell a lot of hi-test and the fuel in there tanks could be 6 months old or more just waiting for you to pump it on your tank and do damage to your fuel system so buy just enough regular to get you back to a well traveled station that you can fill you tank with good fresh hi-test fuel.

Hi i am looking at buying a honda nsr 125. There is one that needs a new clutch cable and and throttle cable from brake pipe. could you tell me how much a honda dealer would charge to repair this? thank yo

I would not buy the bike until the current owner fixes it. Then you can test ride the bike before buying it. For all you know, the transmission and clutch are trash. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

Hey i was riding my bike one day and the speedo just stopped can i fix this without buying a new one or do i have to buy one cheers :)

hi , Depending how old is the bike it maybe only your speedo cable gone . There is no need of replacing the speedo even if its a new bike as the connection maybe damp or fuses might be blown or false connection

WHERE DO WEGET THE YAMAHA RX100

hi anbudharin; welcome to the forum!
yamaha RX100 bike is excellent
1) no maintenace 2) engine power and pickup awesome 3)best suited daily ride 4)especialy its sounds rocking in the city
If anyone planning to buy used Yamaha Rx100, Just go for it by closing your eyes. If you could spend few hundreds initialy you can renew ur bike as like new one which you cant get it from any other bike

Keep track of the 2T oil regularly, if you ride a bike without oil, performance of the engine may go down. I drove this bike form bangalore to hubli once in a three month and I love to ride this bike on such a long drive
if u want seconds pls gothrough this classifides http://www.clickindia.com/search.php?q=yamaha+rx100+bike+for+sale

Hi im JACK. i am thinking about buying a 1998 KAWASAKI KLX300 but there is no spark is that a common fault. because there is no spark i can not hear it run and what else shoud i check on this bike because...

Jack, find a newer bike. Most dealers will not work on a bike over ten years old. Parts availability is one reason. Another is the workload in the shop and the need for the mechanics to stay current with the new models coming out yearly. If they fixed every bike that came in the service backlog would be really bad.

The KLX 300 was never a popular bike. Not many still arround. I would not buy the bike until I rode it for an hour or so. You gotta check the suspension, handling, power, shifting smoothly, shocks, forks, power valve, clutch, water pump, oil pump, radiator, electrical system, front and rear brakes, carb, rings,

Hi i am nilesh live in mumbai i want buy second hand bike like pulsar or unicone which one i bought i see pulsar 2005 it goog and price are 25000 should i purched this bike rate of pulsar is correct or not...

Hi Nilesh, it depends what are you looking for in a bike, the looks, the speed , the reliability, toughness and easy maintenance one and last off course the one tht can suit your pockeet!
Being in Mumbai , I guess there are so many bikes around, try to get a on hand opinion from the users who already have the type of bike you want to buy, tht way you will have a very frank opinion and thus you can decide wwhat to go for!
Good luck!

Are they reliable iam thinking of buying asecond hand one

hi,
buying a secondhand bike is a good option according to me,BUT the most important thing is to make the bike checked with a good mechanic regarding the important parts of the bike.
1-pistion
2-timing chain
3-valves(inlet and outlet)
4-cylinder

check all of them before buying if they are ok then only buy otherwise dont.

cheers

KX60 2001,losing oil from crank casing and won't start.

Hi!

Well, first of all, YES it will start without any oil at all, but in a few minits it will be damaged badly inside the engine. The oils has nothing to do if it starts or not.
Now to that crack youve got under the bike, well its damn expenisve to buy a new casing, BUT you dont need to buy one:) the crack can be WELD:) thats something you cant do yourself. Take the bike to someone good at welding and he will fix it for you in notime:) and its cheap to do it. DO NOT drive the bike before you fill it up with new oil, dont even start it up again without any oil in it, that can be very expensive to do that if you are unlucky.

Good luck
