I am a mechanic . If we cross the economy mark then we get 50-55.mainly the rear tyre must be normal bit thats gets us well mileage.if clutch plate, vail, air filter, carborator are weak then we cant get good mileage.so drive economycally and save bike maintnence and petrol.
I've come across this motorcycle and complaint of poor "mileage" several times. There are so many variables to the question it's almost impossible to predict what "mileage you will achieve. Things like a single rider with light gear, riding two up will reduce mileage, running the motorcycle at high speed will reduce mileage, city traffic or open road makes a huge difference even in this motorcycle. You are not helping mileage sitting there with the engine running while in traffic. Your driving habits are you hard on the throttle when you take off from a stop? Sounds as if I'm scolding you but if you are concerned about mileage on this motorcycle then you need to adjust your riding style AND the biggest this with the Honda Hero is its tires. The tires on the Honda Hero are specially designed for that motorcycles performance and mileage, if they are under inflated you will get poor gas mileage. Check your tire pressure or have the dealer do it if you don't have the gauge.
for mis firing case, need to check the valve timing by aligning the O mark in the cam shaft sprocket and T mark in the rotating magnet, and for the mileage there are several reasons, pls have a check on below things, 1. dont change the fuel station. 2. allways find a good fuel station and have a regular filling. 3. check the airfilter and clean if required. 4. check tyre pressures every 5 days. 5. check chain play is with in spec and also have proper lubrication. 6. check both brake if it is having regular contact with wheel even not holding conditions, 7. check any dust entry in carburretor. 8. Tune the carburretor. 9. check idling RPM is running 750 almost. 10. check tappet valve in right postion. 11. check engine oil condition and quantity. 12. check clutch cable condition and adjust if required. 13. check the mileage test by maintaining reserve to reserve ratio.
maintain a 25 psi in front and 33 psi in rear for rider only. for rider with pillion 25 psi in front and 41 psi in rear. with the above air pressure check and revert.
If you are carefull with splendor it can deliver you Good Mileage but if you play with it then it will drop like any thing. my friend who have passion with 80KM PL got only 33KM PL when he did some extraordinary stuff (bit off roading through the backyard and some ticks with the bike ) so be care full and go between 65-75 to get a descent mileage.
