Looks like your carburettor's giving out a rich fuel mix there or you've forgotten to turn off the choke get you carb tuned or jetted for better mileage (at a loss for speed - acceleration & power... if that's not important to you).,,

Bike engine is new but low mileage low 50kmpl

Hi, Anonymous for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary, transport your bike to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your problem. Good luck and have nice a day.

Tips for hero honda splendor+ performance

1) when something is accelerating is opposing wind resistance in square times so it is recommended by experiences that one should go with 35-40 to get exact efficiency of your motorcycle in higher speeds the air resistance plays major role for decreasing mileage and performance of motorcycles.

2) avoid sudden acceleration and short braking. both degrades not only performance but also decreases reliability of engine.

3) try to use very less amount of brakes.

4) gentle increase in throttle will help you to achieve best efficiency.

5) manufacturer are so wise that they marked speedometer with proper gear selection for particular speed. if that will followed the life of engine, mileage, reliability etc. issues never overcome

i am using a second hand splendor of 2003 model from last three years clocked 22000km. though it was used bike i clocked it total of 58000km, i had never faced any engine related problem, any mileage or performance related, or any breakdown only some aesthetics got broken or scratched, not even default brake liners tires and chain sprockets are changed they all are in good running condition expect rear tyre. i am still getting 80-85 km pl in city but its true that i am using petrol from only one petrol-pump.

How to increase pickup of hero honda splendor plus

I am a mechanic . If we cross the economy mark then we get 50-55.mainly the rear tyre must be normal bit thats gets us well mileage.if clutch plate, vail, air filter, carborator are weak then we cant get good mileage.so drive economycally and save bike maintnence and petrol.

How the bike millage improved

Hi ,
  1. carburetor must be cleaned as a black layered coating would be formed on that
  2. Adjust th Knob that is present right under the tank until the RPM i.e the reving of the bike should be as low as possible without turning of the bike
  3. Leave ur bike for service and as him to clean the air filter
  4. Don't raise ur bike too much as it spoils the tuning
  5. See to that u use unleaded petrol as petrol with adhesive spoils the performance . this specification is according to Honda Company .
  6. accelerate slowly as it leads to maximum fuel efficieny

Petrol

please this is not a matter of paying extra money to the goverment. Xtra premium(45.04) at just 1.5 rupee a litre more than normal petrol(43.54) gives back double ur investment in terms of better fuel efficiency and a cleaner engine. Even my vehicles mileage increased drastically from (41 to 55). also two wheeler owners like us wouldn't feel the price diff. (on 6-7 ltrs.) like car owners do. xtra premium really gives a boost to ur vehicle's pick-up. trust me xtra premium is the best 2 wheeler fuel available.,

Mileage test

Take the reading from the reserve to reserve by filling one litre of petrol when the vehicle goes to reserve. (Arrow of the petrol tap should always face main for main and res. for reserve),
