Hi, Anonymous first check for continuity at the power and ground wire at the horn, then check for continuity at the horn button, back in the day there was a small adjustment screw on the back of the horn, by turning it one way or the other you could set the limit on how much the diaphragm vibrated. I just took my 2006 Harley sportster 1200 out for a spin, it's nighttime and I noticed my headlight wasn't on yet it worked with high beams on. I tried the horn and that doesn't work as well....

You horn and lights are not connected to each other. If the light works on high it should work on dip- replace the bulb. And check the horn connections are good and clean. To see if the horn is good, put a "live" to the horn "+" contact. If it works your switch has failed. if it doesn't, the horn has failed.

Horn fuse 2003 road king

Hi Anonymous, first check the wire connections to the horn making sure they are clean and tight, there is power going to it and the ground wire is securely fastened. Then look behind the horn body for a small set screw sometimes with a jam nut. This screw puts tension on the horn diaphram to vibrate alot or vibrate a little. Have someone hold in the horn button while you adjust the screw in or out as necessary. 1992 and later touring models, fuel pump fuses and relays will be behind the right side panel, everything else will be behind the left side panel to access fuses pull back on the front two locking tabs and slide the cover up. Good luck.

I press the horn button and hear a click under my seat but the horn doesn't blow.

Depending on the year and model bike you have, you may need to replace the horn relay. Or, it could be a circuit breaker if you see other things quit when you press the button and then start back working after a few seconds. I'd investigate the click and see what's making the sound. If it's a relay, you need to check for voltage at the horn. If you have voltage, the relay is good and the horn may be bad or is not grounded well.

Good Luck
Steve

My horn doesn't work(my bike's horn). Press the button, but no sound, is it an easy fix/replacement? 1998 Honda Deauville 650.

To fix your horn is easy, there are some excellent pills out there.
The bikes horn though is different, you will need a small test light or multy meter,
Check if there is power to the wire plugged onto the horn, ignition on
The horn needs direct power to one terminal, and the other terminal shorts to earth through the button.
If there is power and the other wire connects to earth, when the button is pressed you probably need a new horn( not that expensive)
If there is no power check the fuse
If the second wire doesnt connect to earth when the button pressed there may be a problem in the handle switch.
There can also be a problem in the wiring if it has been damaged in the steering stop etc
Sometimes the horn can just be stuck and a small tap on the horn with the button pressed can start it.
If the horn button it a bit corroded in the contacts, hold it in and wiggle it a bit, can clear the corrosion.

Sometime easier to just check the fuse then buy a new horn, before chasing down the wires and switches

Why is horn on my vfr750 not working

Could be a number of things, firstly remove the horn using 2 lengths of wire
1off the live side of the battery, and the other off the neg side put the wires to the horn 1on each post and the horn should sound, eliminating the horn, if it works replace it to the frame,( if it does not work replace the horn) next you need to check for power at the horn feed wire, at the horn using a test light with the ignition on put 1end of the lite into the black wire and the other to the frame or engine, the lite should then light confirming you have power to the horn,( if you do) replace the wire to the horn leaving the green wire of the horn, ( if no power at this point double check all fuses)using a length of wire from the earth of the engine to this post on the horn should sound the horn, this would then point the fault at the horn button
circuit, hope this helps

The horn not working dt250, have power to wire at horn . Should a horn sound if connected to a 6 volt battery to test horn?

Does the horn have 2 wires or 1? Newer Yamahas have 2 wires....power to the horn, and then a ground wwire that goes through the horn button. If its a 2 wire....jumper the ground wire to a good ground to try the horn...if that works...check the horn button.
If its a single wire horn...ensure the horn is firmly grounded.

Horn doesn't work on my 2006 Suzuki Boulevard C50. Is there a fuse for it? If so where is the fuse box?

Remove the leads that connect to the horn. Then, using a spare set of jumper wires, connect the horn directly to the battery. If the horn sounds, check the switch. If the horn does not sound, replace the horn.
