Cooling fan woes

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make the fan cycle on and off while you are at a steady speed? It seems like once the fan comes on it does not shut off until I turn the key off and it cools down.

Sounds like a rotating electrical device not connected to the drive belt, like a rad fan. Not sure if this engine has a vacuum pump, but that could also be what's making the noise.

I have a 2007 Silverado, radiator fan comes on 5 seconds after starting engine.

The thermostat circuit that controls the on/off cycles of the radiator fan motor is not working properly in that its performance is, at best, erratic. But the car is not overheating which is a plus. Will not harm car and in cold weather it will take it a tad longer for the engine to reach full operating temperature.

Does the radiator fan in the Tucson remain all the time once the engine is hot

the fan should cycle on and off when the engine temp is at 222 degrees F the fan will come on as the engine cooles back down to 200 the fan will cycle off, but if the A/C is on the fan will run counitally at idle it may go off will at hiway speed because there will be enough air moving threw the grill at speed.

djones, The evap fan motor should not change speeds in less than 1 minute of time. The fan motor has two speeds. Usually this is a indication of a failing main board. If you have a meter you can do a voltage check at the J-2 connector on the board. Check for 13VDC between pins J2-3 and J2-8 and 8 to 13VDC between J2-3 and J2-4. If this voltage stays steady, your problem lies in the evap fan motor. If this voltage drops out or fluctuates, it's more than likley the board....Catriver...post back.
