I have a 2003 Ec 200 and looking to do some night riding and the current headlight doesnt seem man enough for the Job. Anyone got any recomendations ie a replacement unit or Helmet lights etc.I ride mainly at night and have a stock headlight. I used to have a 10 watt Mtn. bike headlight I would wear on my helmut but it slipped off and got eaten by my rear sprocket lost forever. A helmut light is key to riding at night so you can point to see where you are gonna go and helps when going over logs. I was able to ride a gear higher with the helmut light too. I think the next one I get will be the double light by I think is Night Sun one is 10 watts and the other is 15 watts and I'll wing nut it on to my visor this time. It would be nice to have a brighter headlight too.,,,

Yamaha at night my speedometer and tac lights rent

You should be able to access the speedo and tac lights via the rear of the console. Check the bulbs and replace if required. If this does not help, please reply or further information

Was riding 95 gsxr and my head lights went out

Had the same problem. There is a green plug in the wire harness situated under the tank on the left hand side of the frame. This plug tends to pick up corrotion. Try to unplug the two parts, if you have difficulty to unplug it this might just be your problem. Replacing the plug is the only solution. This plug connects the wiring from the light switch, to the lights. If you have difficulty tracing this plug, trace the wires back from the light switch on the handle bars.

Battery goes dead

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Your post/description indicates two possibilities:
  • faulty the voltage regulator (most likely);
  • loose/corroded connectors (likely);
  • faulty alternator/stator (least likely).
Depending on the country of manufacture and/or the country of intended use, the voltage regulator would look something like the image below.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.
