Could the pads have already worn down so fast?  has anyone had this problem? The higher the humidity the more noise mine makes not so loud as to be a squeal but noticeable. I kind of doubt they are worn out. You may have a shoe thats glazed that would do it also. The linings may need to be lapped down at the edges. Any drum brake rear bike squeals if the edges are higher than the center found that out on a Suzuki GT 250 I had 25 years ago. ,,,

When breaking my 2010 ford focus has a loud kocking noise from rear

I would pull the wheels and look for something loose on the brakes, such as a spring or self adjuster. Also look at the backing plate to see if it is tight.
Keep in mind it may be something covered by the car's warranty.

It could well be in need of new brake pads however this would be noticable more when you apply the brakes if the sound is in the rear its not the front brakes it could also be your wheel hub bearings are past there used by date its a serious problem and needs attension right away

the system uses a drum brake system on the rear. What happens, is where the shoe sits against the backing plate, it tends to wear and leave a mild to severe grove which can cause the shoes to stick until it is pulled back by the springs and returned to it's normal operating position. If you want to save yourself some money, I can walk you throuhg the repiar and what to look for. I can also send diagrams if you feel confident enough in your mechanical ability. Let me know. These are pretty easy. Put the money in your pocket!!

Loud noise comes from rear brake when braking

When you squeeze the brakes, the rubber pad should NOT be flat against the rim. Instead, the FRONT of the rubber pad should be a bit closer to the rim than the back part of the pad (about 1 mm or 1/16th inch).

Also, you can try to put fine sandpaper (150 grit) between the rim and brake pad, with the rough part facing the brake. Squeeze the brakes lightly and move the wheel a small amount to scuff the brake pad to remove any dirt on it.

Brakes are making loud grinding noise when slowing down to stop or on an incline

Ok, it could be a few things, 1. bad break caliper. 2. if you have ceramic breaks, it could be a cracked brake pad, and if they are not ceramic they can still be cracked. 3. if you drive a lot then it could be that you need new breaks again.. 4. also have your back breaks checked along with the front ones..

Brake problem

ask the guy who did your brakes if he replaced your rotorsif not have them turned if they cant turn them replace them ....question what side of the car does it seem to be coming from... if the brake guy never replaced the rotors you could have one that is warped or even cracked. also have the wheel bearings checked out (caution ) if a wheel bearing freezes up it can if you are traveling at a high rate of speed put the car into a spin..another thing it could be is a warped rim inspect the inside surface of the rim and make sure it is not contacting the dust plate also check spindals it would save you considerable expence if you can detect where its coming from . jack the car up even if you have to do this one wheel at a time block it up so the wheels are off the ground and spin the wheels by hand and listen for and watch for abnormalities....if its not in spindals rotors or rim hitting backing plate chances are its in the pilot shaft of the tranny. good luck i hope this helps and keep me posted mrdmburns@cableone.net
