So i recently replaced my scrambler exhaust with the stock exhaust. i sped up my idle speed a bit because the engine would die going into neutral. i have NOT rejetted my carb yet but will get around to it soon. although this sloved the problem of it dying in neutral it now has difficulty starting. the idle speed has not changed very much just slightly increased (maybe between a half and quarter turn of the screw). is this because of the carb not being rejetted? now for the simple question... how do i get gasoline stains off the exterior of my tank? wax wont work.
Try starting it with the idle screw adjusted back to where it was with the old exhaust. Have you checked the plug? If the stock exhaust makes it overly rich the plug will foul quickly making starting much more difficult. You could try a light rubbing compound on the tank mine still proudly wears it's gasoline stains from my first refill. I tried wax too but it didn't work I guess it doesn't bother me enough to try to get rid of them.,,
