Technoresearch my bike had an IAW 16M ecu. When I got the kit I looked at the ECU in my bike and it is an IAW 435. A mechanic told me he thinks it may be the stock ECU but I don't think so. Anyone know if it's correct? It's a 916 monoposto. Thanks.,I got the big book in front of me, it says ALL 916's had 435 (P8), except for the biposto and Senna edition. So, whoever told you it had a 1.6, didn't know that info,,,

New bike coming home tomorrrow, is there an o2 sensor or anything else that would making the installation of a slip on exhaust more difficult. The bike is a california bought 2010 fz1.

Most bikes seem to have O2 sensors these days and I'd say it's pretty likely you will have one. They are easy to find, just follow the pipes from the motor all the way to the exhaust and you will find it, they aren't small. A bit like a big spark plug usually with 4 wires coming off it.

It won't stop you using a slip on unless the slip on replaces the part of the pipe containing the sensor. A decent exhaust however should have a plug in it so you can install the O2 sensor if required.

The problem comes when you try to get it running spot on for the new pipe. Some sensors are just used to lean off the mixture during cruise and part throttle operations. For these ones you can usually get a kit that will plug in to the loom instead of the sensor and it will "trick" the ECU into thinking the reading is fine and no change is necessary. This will allow you to add a power commander or other fuel control type device and tune the engine accordingly.

I bought a 2007 R1 thers no key and thers no ignition system and i wana get the bike started without costing me an arm and a leg is this possible thanx

The ignition is coded to the ECU and are a set
If you have the red key you can re- use ignition switch but will need a new ECU ,as once they are paired, cannot be changed and bike will not run. You cannot use S/H unless they are a set with keys.

ECU Question for a Monster s2r 800

I'm pretty sure the multi was never an 800. Def cause for a lot of problems. You could bandaid fix the situation w/ a custom dyno-tuned pc3, starting w/ a map from a multi.. It would end up costing you around $500-600 all said and done. perhaps it's time for a DP ECU specific to the S2R 800. good luck

No spark

I have inspected the engine oil filter and found very little two sections of the filter showed a little metal but not really more than you would expect from a newly broken in bike . The fuel pump continues to run at all times I disconnected the fuel pump removed the plug and checked it for spark: no dice. The 10 amp fuse in the back is fine, I assume that is the one and only fuse on the bike. ' Is it safe to assume that my bike has no spark (and fuel pump runs constantly) because the ECU is toast? I did not check for power from the magneto or check the pulse generator out yet....i guess i just assumed the ecu was junk where can I get the part?,Best to find someone nearby with a D&M kit to test your ECU for communication. If no one is available, your ECU can be sent to Canniboomer to be checked for proper function. If it fails, then he can send a new or possibly a used replacement. Don't forget the Diode update is likely necessary on your bike. ,,,
