I planning to replace the airbox on my 748 with another one. I want to estimate how difficult it will be: I know I need to remove the tank and the airbox runners but will the box then get out easily?he airbox will come off pretty easy you have to pulle off the breatherhose from under the airbox, it goes behind the rear cylinder. also, the funnels on the injectors need to be taken off. I am not sure what kind of funnels there are on a 748 compared to a 996, but you on a 996, you only have to twist them for a 1/4 turn, no more, and then pull, pretty hard, to get them off.,,,

I have a 1988 125 cc TZR when the airbox is on it reaches 7,000 does not excelorate further but splutters! Checked jets-spot on. Took off airbox running perfect! Done a plug chop with airbox off colour...

hi.
sounds like you need a new air filter... inside the air box is either a paper element that needs replacing, or possibly a sponge element that you may be able to clean if it is not too bad. you will have to check the service manual for cleaning details, or just replace the sponge itself to be sure.
the dirty filter is restricting airflow through the airbox.
hope this helps.

It's a 1993 and it starts idles revs fine. But when u put it in gear it bogs down. Is it jettig or air or what?

First place I'd check is the carbs - make sure the choke isn't engaged!
Choke on = easy start + easy idle + easy revs + bog under load.

Too much air (hole in the airbox, hose off the airbox) can do this too.

I have a 2001 ducati 748 when i put the bike in any gear the bike just moves slow but the engine revs if i rev slow the bike will pick up speed

Time for some new plates in there. I have an 02 s4, and my clutch did the same thing. had to get a clutch pack and put it in, fairly easy job. you have to get the old one out and measure the plates to see if they are worn etc, new seals, bearings, plates, springs. I would check the adj on my clutch lever first to make sure it is right. Also, when mine first started slipping, it was real hot out. It cooled down that day and worked fine, but I had trouble from then on, slipping. Had changed the oil and everything to try and fix it. Hope this helps.

Installation of carb *** kz sr 650, no clearance front or back! IT came out! how does it go back in?

Not and easy task... make sure you have loosened the 2 bolts that hold the airbox to the battery cage. Remove the breather tube from the case vent and airbox. Make sure the airbox is moved all the way toward the rear of the bike as possible. Put the caries back in the engine but don't align anything, tilt the assembly up at the front and push the carbies onto the rubber manifolds. Then lift the rear up and try to install the rubber boots to the air cleaner. It is a tight fit and sometimes the cam chain adjuster can get in the way - you will get sore fingers replacing the boots.

Converting 996/998

ECU and harness for pretty much the same price. I'm curious to know if that engine will fit in the chassis. The different shape of the heads fitting in the frame under the airbox and the throttle bodies to airbox. From my understanding the engine mounting should be the same.It will not fit but not because of the enginemounting points, it´s because of the frame. You need a 748R or 998/996R frame to make the Testa engine fit. The problem is the cross-brace framing just behind the airbox. It´s going to be in the way. In the raceteam I´m apart off, we did a 999s engine transplant into our 748R frame and it was easy enough. We did in in a couple of days work, including using the new TB´s and building our own airbox that uses the 999 bottom part and a 748R upperpart. ,,,
