Generator light on 748 always on

I have a 1997 748 with 3K miles on it. Brand new OEM battery last month. It sits on a battery tender all the time when mot used. I took it out yesterday and the blue Generator light came on 10 min. into the ride. I immediately took it back home and ran the basic tests. It comes on as soon as it starts now

And is even there when just the ignition is on. 1. Battery tested at 12.7 when off. 2. 12.2 or so when first started then 13.5 to 14.3 when reved up to 2K to 8k+. 3. Yellow stator to R/R wires mint with no crimps or burn marks and any other imperfections. 4. Headlight gets brighter when it revs up to 2K or so as it should. 5. Bike starts ides revs rides 100% fine (took it out today for a while with no problems. Granted I didn't go to far from home as I didn't want to get stranded. 6. Disconnected everything at the battery, check all fuses, couldn't find any damaged wires, etc... reconnected, blue light still on, even when just the ignition is in on mode with the motor not on. Curve ball... I took off the license plate mount including the rear blinkers last week by just disconnecting the OEM connectors under the seat (turning it into a track only machine), no shorts or anything there, can this trigger the light to come on? So any ideas? Any other test points I should look into? I really want to get this sorted before hitting the track!,When a regulator/rectifier goes bad it can cause a condition where the battery could be overcharged or undercharged. I had an old GS750 that would boil the battery dry about every 2 months but since it was a Suzuki I just kept refilling the battery with electrolyte. The light will come on if the power output is over or under a set voltage parameter. The removal of all lights has probably caused the regulator to exceed this parameter. Plug back in the lights and see if it goes away.,,,

After sitting one week the batteries are dead. Seems as if something is draining the batteries. I switched the tow switch on when not in use.Batteries are about four months old.

Seems like you're definitely right. Get wiring schematic for your bike sounds like you're grounded out somewhere. Get yourself a battery tender or you may need a new battery cuts the voltage on the battery should be about 12.671 V not running

Dead 2011 flstfb battery

You should remove the battery and replace it. Do not use jumper cables to start as this can harm your electronics on a motorcycle. Buy a battery tender when you get your new battery and it will last a lot longer, especially if you live in an area where where the bike sits for a long time.

07 Ninja won't start

sitting is the worst thing for a bike. you have a bad battery. if you have to leave the bike for a long time, put it on a battery tender or at least start it up once a week. the gas will go bad in the fuel system and the battery will fail. also, when you get a battery, make sure to get a good one from the dealer, dont get the cheap ones from walmart or autozone. a factory battery will last 2-5 years. you will be lucky to get 1 year from a cheap battery.

Or the rod broke like mine just did, and will need replacement.,,,

Need help bike died while riding

everything working perfect. Wednesday night i was riding home from work and got about halfway home bike had a small bog while coming up for a turn onto another street pulled in the clutch and stall. Rolled to a stop and fired the magic button. The motor would turn over and act like it wanted to run (had to give a small amount of throttle) for about 2-3 seconds and then would die. Did this about 5 times and the typical dead or low batter clicking occured. Got the bike home and it has been on the tender for the last 2 days and i just put some time in on the bike and sure enough bike will turn over although kida sputtering and making slight backfire sounds (almost as if timing is off) and will run for about 2-3 seconds and dies. I can do this about 4-5 times and the infamous clicking starts to happen again. Now my bike has never been a cold start bike, i always have to give it a bit of throttle when its cold to keep it running, but once it warms up runs like a champ...or atleast it used to. Its a fairly new battery and has been kept on the tender when the bike is not used for a few days. Now the other thing that bothers me is it seems that oil may be seeping out from where the head and the case meet, but very little. The motor does have a slight coating of oil around the gasket area. I did send the motor to ATK back in late 04 or 05 and had the reliability and upgrade done to it but have only about 500 total miles on it since then, with about 400 of those in the last coulple of months. ,Even with a good bike battery 4-5 tries is about all they have.So forget about the battery and go with basics fuel, compression and spark. Also sounds like you need some mapping help, you should never have to touch the throttle when starting. The will run perfect if they are tuned. Do you know what map is in it? Did ATK also change the ECU to a .atj map?,,,
