EXCEPT that the clutch engages way late (at the very end of just before releasing the lever completely). This has been noted in reviews of the moto. Any fix for this?I use to notice this on my wife's 620 particularly when it was newer. (now has 12K) We fit CRG levers and this helped but I think over time it has actually gone away. I do notice that the engagement window is narrow though. I get use to it pretty quick now. It still is pretty much my favorite bike in the garage. Wonderful under-rated bike in my opinion.,,,

Ducati 620 multistrada clutch problem

The ducati 620 uses a hydraulic clutch.
1 - make sure there is fluid in the reservoir. Bleed the clutch like you bleed brakes. If that does not work, go onto step 2.
2- Remove the slave cylinder from the bike and see if the piston on the slave cylinder moves. Do not pump too much or the clutch piston will pop out.
3- Re attach the slave cylinder and remove the clutch cover on the opposite side. ( have a drip pan since a small amount of oil will come out) Press in on the clutch lever and see if the plates on the other end moves. They should move very slightly and the pressure plate should move about 10th of an inch.
If you don't see any of this, you have an issue.

The 620's clutch is prone to sticking and make take a few tries to come loose.

How do I blled my hydrolic clutch on a 2006 yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe?

Bleeding the clutch hydraulics will not solve a slipping clutch. You probably need to change the fiber plates in the clutch.

These ares more of a work around, but you can get a top notch open source free word processor at OpenOffice.org. Fully compatible with Microsoft.

Or, if you have a MS SkyDrive account. It will open MS Office docs that are uploads and stored there. This the new MS office will be intergrated. Clo

What gears and wheels will i need on a hybrid mountain bike if i want speed and also touring capability on the road ?

You want a wide range for both high speed and high torque. A triple mountain bike chainring gives you a lot of it while a cassette with, say, 11x30 or so range makes up the rest. Your strength and riding style also play into it. However, a large ring of, say 42 teeth so typical of modern MTB's, is going to severely limit your top end. I have an 20-year old converted mountain bike with a full-on road triple crank (52/42/32) because the previous 46-tooth large ring was too small to keep up with the group on unburdened rides. I have various cassette ranges for loaded vs unloaded use.

My 2003 mountaineer when I drive in reverse and turn will come to a stop if I don't really push on the gas. I have had the wheel bearings changed and the rear clutch fluid drained - that did not work -...

it sounds like your 4 wheel drive is engaged. whether on purpose or its stuck thats your problem, to double check jack up one of your front tires, if it wont turn then thats your problem

There are nice adjustable levers avaliable at your Ducati store. A good thing if you have smaller hands. Doesn't cure the sudden engagement, but maybe makes it easier to control.
