What is it?Normal to an extent. Valve clearances may be too big (only potentially a problem if they go too quite and have therefore closed up). Piston slap (some is normal). Small end (possible). Worn rockers.,

Cam chain rattle when engine is idling

This bike is well known for cam chain rattle, but it has an automatic tensioner so there are no adjustments. If the bike runs well just ride it. I have a friend that had his cam chain, tensioner and guides, and in less than a couple years it was making the same sounds. If the bike run rough then it is a possibility the chain has stretched and unless you are confident with timing issues take it to a pro.

My kx125 2002 has a funny rattle when idleing on the magneto side

Take the cover off the magneto side by undoing the 8mm bolt/screw heads around the cover. Hold the magneto firmly and try and move up and down, if you sense any movement that isn't rotary it may be your main bearing that needs replacement, this sounds like a rumble rather than a rattle when the engine's running.
(does it make the same noise when you pull the clutch in?)

I have a 1990 goldwing we though we had a clutch rattle I put a new one in. The rattle is still there. Its not a rod or a main the rattle goes away when you give it gas what could it be I am lost

It really depends on the sound, but all Honda clutches rattle at idle. The rattle goes away when you pull in the clutch lever or put the bike in gear.

Rattling noise

I know this may sound lame but I had a similar rattle and it was the catch on the fuel lid.
I put a little rubber on the tounge of the lock and now it is quiet.

I have mucuni flat top sliders smooth bore they rattle when idling is that normal

If you can hear your Mikuni carbs "rattling" evidently you have changed the air box on your bike. The stock air box does two things, filter the air going into your engine and quieten intake noise. If you've changed or modified your air box in order to get better performance, you'll have to learn to live with more intake noise. The "rattle" you hear is really not a rattle. It is the "intake pulse" of each piston sucking air into the cylinder. Even at idle speeds, it does this so fast at to make it sound like a rattle. At higher speeds, it's so fast that you can't hear it most of the time. If the bike is idling at 1000 RPM, envision the piston moving up and down in the cylinder 1000 times a minute or 16 times a second. Every other time is an intake stroke, 8 times a second.

My bikes clutche makes a funny noise just be4 it grips any ideas

its natural in these bikes, Its the clutch hub spring tensions are gone down. Its not a problem, use it till the sound becomes more more noticable and then replace it with the plates etc.

Possible camchain rattle

yep, a lot more, if oil has been changed when it should. usual soution to this, unless it really is rattling badly, is to go out and give the bike a real good thrashing. that will stretch the chain a tiny bit and allow the cam chain tensioner to move on to it's next click in the ratchet. in other words, unless it sounds like a bag of nails, leavi it alone but keep an ear out for it getting worse, these engines are one of the best about, not like the Honda who haven't yet found out how to make a cam chain tensioner.
