Question about 2007 CCM 404 DS Moto

1 Answer

Air filter Been in touch with Pipercross who I believe make the air filter for my 404. As I off-road I have to maintain the current airbox. Pipercross only supply to CCM. Is there any other supplier or maybe different air filter that will fit. May have to take the plunge and pay out for the CCM unit (they have us over a barrel as it seems to be a 'made for model' item).

Mass airflow sensor location 2014 kia rio

its between the airfllter and the intake. my guess without knowing your car its in the black hose from the air box or in the airbox where the air filter is. will be easy to spot. look for a wire plug going to it. disconnect the hose clamps and remove the air filter cover and you should be able to find it. don't touch the metal grate inside the air sensor. they make a special cleaner just for that and they are easy to change.

Oil in airbox

Hi, Anonymous oil leaking from your air cleaner is caused by oil carryover from the engine. For whatever reason, the breather system is not separating enough oil mist and air from the piston downstroke. There are cheap and quick easy fixes and there are more expensive ones. First, make sure your breather hoses are not dry and cracked if they are ok you can start by trying the following:
1. Run your oil level half way between the add and full mark when hot.
2. Run oil breather lines from the head into a TEE fitting below carb/induction module then a single line into a mini filter under the frame.

I have a 1988 125 cc TZR when the airbox is on it reaches 7,000 does not excelorate further but splutters! Checked jets-spot on. Took off airbox running perfect! Done a plug chop with airbox off colour...

sounds like you need a new air filter... inside the air box is either a paper element that needs replacing, or possibly a sponge element that you may be able to clean if it is not too bad. you will have to check the service manual for cleaning details, or just replace the sponge itself to be sure.
the dirty filter is restricting airflow through the airbox.
hope this helps.

Have a 2000 kawasaki ninja zx6 bike spudders .. so I took off airbox and filter and it runs fine . Then I just took off filter and put airbox and then it sputters again . Any suggestions ? Thanx

I have a suggestion.
It worked with no airbox( airbox lid I guess you mean).
Then I would think that your problem would almost certainly be a blockage or restriction to the air flow entering the airbox intake.
Look in the airbox, with the lid off-And see where the air enters the box- the air ducts on each side.
Make sure these are clear of any obstruction.
Check the air intake vent in the front of the fearing for obstructions.
I feel pritty sure you'll find your problem here(I hope!).
See how you go
Kind regards Andrew Porrelli

Where is the Air Filter Located in a 2006 ford focus . And how do you clean the Forever air Filter in the 2006 ford focus

Actually, the newer ('05+) Duratec motors have a sealed airbox. There is a meter on the side of it (positioned just behind the driver side headlight.) To qualify as a Partial Zero Emission vehicle all emissions parts are required to last for 100k miles. 100k miles is when Ford recommends replacing it. Yes... you replace the ENTIRE airbox. Often times it's more cost effective to replace the unit with a traditional cold air induction kit (~$150) with a more traditional air filter.

Your PCV (Positive Crankcase Valve) has failed. The valve is designed to allow gas fumes in the crankcase to be recycled back through the intake and be burned off in combustion. There should be a black hose running into the airbox. It should also have a filter in the airbox. If you follow the hose to the engine itself it will end at the PCV. Replace the valve and the small filter in the airbox and this should resolve your problem as well as boost your fuel mileage.

Change audi a3 air filter?

You can find an instruction video on how to change an air filter at:

I'm not sure wether you mean 1) "changing the original filter for a fresh one" or 2) "change the air filter to a different sporty type" (like i.e. an open air filter).

Either way it's pretty simple: the most important part is finding the correct filter for your car (model, type, year). A paper replacement filter (the same as the factory one) costs around 20 euro's and lasts around 30 000km, a more sporty cotton/foam one with improved airflow and durability costs around 60~70 euro (will last a life time, although needs cleaning every 50 000km) and might sound a little sportier.

Then find the airbox (which in your case is the big box on right with a big hose on the left, in front of the battery, can't miss). Unscrew the 3 bolds, remove the top and you'll see the air filter. Unscrew the placeholder on the left and the air filter will just pop out. Then pop in the replacement part and screw everything back. It's a simple, clean 5 minute job.

Replacing the whole airbox unit for an open filter is nearly as simple; get the correct replacement filter, unscrew the original airbox and screw the new one in place (following the directions which come with the replacement part). This is a 15 minute job, but still pretty simple and might have a noticable effect on performance (better throttle-response and 2~6 hp more). This looks something like: (the purple filter being the aftermarket K&N air filter).

Oil in air filter and out the pipes. slipin under precher around

It does sound like an overfill of oil. Typically, when there is too much oil, it will get pushed out through the crankcase breather into the airbox. To check your oil level, stand the bike upright and check the oil level window. If it above the high mark, you have too much.
Hope this helps

My harley sporster cuts out for a second when going idle speed.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

To your concern, it would depend:
  • if you are using stock air filters and airbox, then it would be an air leak. The filter itself could be torn, dislodged, out of position, not seated properly, warped out of form. It could also be the bottom part of the airbox is not fitted snugly to the carbs or the upper portion is not sealing/mating with the lower protion;
  • if you are using aftermarket air filters such as K & N, then you may need to do a bit of rejetting or enrich your air/fuel mixture;
  • if you are using velocity stacks with no filter, then the carbs has be retuned, rejet which may not be enough if the engine is stock.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Pls be informed that due to my current rank and rating, even a Helpful would be detrimental to my status. Should this solution not address your concern, it would be appreciated if you could just not rate it at all. Cheers.
