I just bought a 01 buell xb12scg a few weeks ago. I have put 1000 miles on it and now it only has 2600 miles and it drove fine one minute and i went to start it the next and it would start. I took a plug out and it was dry. what could this most likely be? fuel pump? it turns over fine and everything.with the earlier models (x1 s1 m2, etc) you will avoid lots of problems when switching to carb. Other than that, it could be the fuel pump, blockage in fuel line, malfunction in ECM, etc...,,,

Bike starts and runs 30 seconds then dies

Hello,

It sounds like fuel is not getting through the system. You can check the fuel going the to carb by pulling the fuel line going into the carb. Check the fuel filter for proper fuel flow. The fuel pump could also cause your problem - you can disconnect the output line and test for fuel flow out of the pump.

Hope this helps. If you find this information useful, please vote on this post. Thank you.

My 2004 crf 450 will not run when you take choke off

Hello, Im Bobby.

I would start off buy checking the fuel flow to the carb to do this simply remove the line going from the fuel tank to the carb. There should be good fuel flow at the carb with the line removed. It there is lack of fuel there then the fuel filter is pluged or something is in your tank causing the restriction. If you have good fuel flow at the carb then Im going to say there is a blockage in your carb and the carb would need removed , tore apart and cleaned and reinstalled.

Bike has been sitting for a year wont start

Hello if it sat for one yr. with fuel in the carb and i am assuming you already have charge or replaced battery. The carb / carbs will need to be cleaned because the low speed jet / jets are block with stale fuel ( old fuel tends to thicken to vanish like substance }

Hello. tryed to start my bike after a unexpected snow fall and was bitterly cold. the bike wont start just back fires. hasd it running for 5 seconds after cleans and checking plugs coils coil leads, fuel,...

You may have some fuel issues. The cold may have cause any "trash" in the fuel to clump together. Flush your fuel out of the tank and check / change fuel filter. Hope this helps, please let us know, thanks

Fuel filter replacement

hello
it may be possible that as long as you just ran out of fuel. that the system needs to reprime with fuel. when the carbs were ran dry. the fuel lines ran empty as well. there is a fuel pump that only works when the motor is cranking over. so the more you crank over the more fuel will start to refill the fuel lines and float bowls to help start again.
