If I get the spy cable download some programs will I be able to adjust it myself?  What's the cure?no need to tune it. since you have an all buell racekit, the ecm is built for your exhaust & filter and should be running almost optimal.i would look into your coldstart and idle speed. maybe you temp sensor is acting up? if may be time to take a reset...,,,

Yamaha xt225 serow front exhaust pipe glows red within 5mins of starting also running rough

Fueling issue running far to lean, choke makes the circuit richer so it will run , lean running causes over heating and serious engine damage if its running red hot, check the plug for white burnt or blistering will show lean running. Compression test to make sure the piston ring and barrel are not damaged over 110psi. Is the exhaust blocked restricted or dented ?

Hello, My 2011 fatboy lo runs very hot. I have Vance and Hines big radius and screamin eagle stage one kit. It runs hot but it runs awsome. i wanted to put an oil cooler on the bike but was told to leave...

There's hot and there's too hot. Heat is one of the factors that shorten the life of an engine, especially an air cooled engine. You bike is equipped with the oil jets that help cool the pistons. If it were my bike, I'd take the bike to a known good high performance shop that had a dynometer, an exhaust gas analyzer, and a good mechanic that knew what he was doing with both the bike and the dyno. I'd have them run the bike up through the RPM range and check the fuel-air mixture ratio at various rpm levels. If the bike is running too lean, it'll run hot. Lean is mean but too lean is bad. The mechanic may can richen the mixture up just a bit, say from 14.2:1 to 13.7:1 and reduce the heat while maintaining the performance you want. It's worth a try.

Good luck

Can i adjust the carbs on my 2001 yamaha r1 to run a bit richer what should i do cause my bike is running lean over 8000rpm

there is a fuel screw at the bottom of the carb, i would close it (turn it in) all the way, and then back the screw out 1 and a half turns, then go from there, if it is still too lean, turn the screw out 1/4 turn more, and then again if still too lean. has anything been done to the bike, new after market exaust? because then maybe you need to rejet the carb to get fuel to the engine a little faster. you can get a jet set....all the jets that match from moose racing. the jet sets are packaged as a kit. you would get a new needle jet, main jet, pilot jet, air jet. but befor you go through all that i would tinker with the fuel screw.

Hello I have a 1996 Suzuki DR-200 and recently put

G'day mate the 1st thing i would go for is float level then compresion if it does have the **** it wont take the fuel in , rules are if it has **** ( induction ) Squeeze (compression) Bang ( spark) and Blow (free exhaust) then it should go, if it was running to lean there is good chance it has a burnt exhaust valve which will greatly drop the compression/induction, also check the valve clearence. hope this helps

I have a 03 Harley XL Custom Sportster that has a hard time starting both cold and after 4 or so minutes after sitting. Have aftermarket exhaust, K&N air filter. Has new spark plugs. It also pops in...

You are experiencing a lean condition (to much air vs fuel) due to your exhaust and k & n filter modifications. This means you'll have to re-jet you carb so more fuel is introduced so proper ignition can take place. Running lean will result in detonation and big dollar repairs. If you have fuel injection you will have to purchase a fuel/ignition management module i.e. power commander, sreaming eagle race tuner or the like so you can upload the correct air/fuel mixtures as per your mods.

I have a 06 buell xb12r muffler install now runs like ****

there are a couple of options. one is the Buell "race ecm" the other is to use a software package like ECMspy to re-program the ecm. This has been gone over in-dept over at the power commander and other "piggyback" tuners do not work well with the buell, and your is almost certainly running very lean.
