I bought a Honda 2002 VT1100 Shadow Spirit. I haven't rode a bike since 1973 which was a Honda 750 - 4. I'm having trouble with getting my balance and can't ride it. Has this been a problem with th

I have owned both those bikes. I had that exact year VT. it should ride fine. there must be a problem with yours. check the tire pressure & make sure the brakes aren't hanging, see itf the forks are bent or if the neck bearings are dry or too tight. my main issue with the VT is the performance, it has decent torque but don't try to pass at highway speeds unless you can just throttle by. downshifting doesn't do much for it either.. I know it is a cruiser but it leaves lots to be desired. the stock seat will have you looking for the nearest rest stop! it has nasty vibration felt through the foot pegs and grips. cruisers are supposed to be comfy.
I give it one compliment it is a reliable bike, that old 73 you had will run circles around that VT and is way more comfortable...trade it off asap :)

How do i deristrict my bike??

i wouldn't reconmend it but it can be done by , putting on a "slightly" bigger carb , fitting a racing exhaust and racing cdi , this advaces timing , this next part trades acceleration for top speed this is done by putting on a "slightly" bigger front spocket eg by 1 or 2 teeth

Very intermitantly my 08 boulevard will not crank. It will always crank with a jump. I have traded batteries when the problem was occuring. still would not start until i jumped it. anybody else had these...

It takes a very fresh battery to start those bikes, possibly the battery you traded to use wasnt in its prime either, also if you have a charging issue then the same thing will happen, check your stator and voltage regulator for problems.

DOES ANYBODY KNOW WOULD A POWER COMMANDER 3 USB HAVE ANY REAL EFFECT ON THE TOP SPEED OF A 05 VL800

The power commande will encrease horse power if you have done high flow pipes and air cleaner. You don't need to increase top end speed, she's is more than fast enough to get your license suspended in all 50 states.

If you have to pins on top of the caliper that are holding the pads in then yes you can change them without removing the caliper from frame....if not then remove caliper from frame and remove old pads....Good Luck to you friend.....Tim

Front sprocket

Hi ........... One tooth less will give you more top speed (if you can pull top revs) but will reduce accelleration. If you go for one tooth less you'll need to tighten the chain and/or remove a link. It's a trade off ............ decide what you want the bike to do.
