Question about 2005 Benelli Tornado Tre 900 LE

Can keep the go power

Ok Ive got a problem where I can all of a sudden only start my bike with starter fluid and then it runs for almost exactly 2 miles and then slowly runs with less and less power till it finally stalls. I originally thought this would be a gas related problem so I put dry gas in and then I put in more later (way too much overall) and I checked my inlinbe fuel filter which is clear and obviously gas is running though. I also am pretty sure the carburator is functioning because it runs the starter fluid though. The other thought that my friend suggested is the pick up coil

Which I can test I guess but I dont even really know what it does really. Any how I havent actually looked at the bike since I got it home just hoping you all had some good insight. why do u have to put in starter fluid? or do you mean you prime the carbs? it ought to start by itself w/ just the gas in the tank. u could be having an issue w/ the petcock or if its a vac operated petcock then its probably a tank cap vent blocked. ,,

My mule will not keep running. Stopped suddenly after good start. Replaced the fuel pump. Still will not keep running. Fires. Then stops. Fires on starting fluid. What could it be?

When you say it fires with starting fluid can you keep it running with the starting fluid or does it just fire while cranking the starter then stop when the key is turned to run if it keeps running with the starting fluid then you still have a pump problem or the filter could be plugged or the carb could be bad but if it'd fuel injection then it might just not getting enough pressure fuel injection takes high pressure

No fuel or no spark. Quick test: spray some starter fluid into air intake and try to start it. If it runs and then dies, you've got spark but no fuel. If the bike quit with no prior symptoms, check spark plug wire not knocked loose, fuel filter clogged. (You do have gas, right?)

Car died while stooped at light

if it won't run on starting fluid then you have a no spark issue. i'd check spark out of the coil to the distributor. you could have a bad ignition control module or coil

If you are talking about a remote starter ... with a key fob ... what were you thinking when you put this on a dirt bike?

If you are talking about the sart solenoid, jump it with a piece of heavy wire to see if that is the problem.

hi ,
Try to disconnect the battery terminals as well as the starter terminals .
refit them and make sure all are tight . All loose connections will not help and will cause false contacts and therefore loss of power to crank the starter motor over .

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, start with the clutch lever pulled in and/or the side stand folded up.

Offhand, check the 2 wires going to the starter relay. 1 should have a +12 while the other must go ground when starting.

Postback results of above tests.

Incidentally, a 98 XJ600N could be pushed started.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Starter keeps running

i would say in my opinion and im not exactly sure but the gear from the starter motor connecting to the flywheel is locking in place my best bet would be to check this gearing system out and try doing a service on your bike like fluid changes
