I've got my bike in the shop with exhaust repairs but before it went I noticed a noise from the left side of the engine.
tomado tre 900
Sort of a shuh shuh shuh or shih shih shih sound at idle but seemed to disappear (or speed up?)when I revved the engine though I can't be sure because of the overly loud exhaust. It might even be characterized as a gasping sound
I'm wondering if it is a vacumn leak at the intake maybe but am fearing something alot worse like worn out cam chain

Re: velve or what?
Valve camshaft bearing...a head gasket will blow without any oil loss--sounds more like exhaust leak.you can take a propane torch and hold it close to the header pipe and rev the engine up and let off the throttle.if it is leaking it will pull the flame to the header.,,

colder plug for NGK. Should I stay with that plug or go with a hotter plug ? That's really ... weird.
You have to use the choke ... which indicates you went lean
The old exhaust needed no choke shich indicates rich...
But you went back to stock which should, by normal standards, make the bike run RICHER if the jet sizes were increased,,,
usually louder when the engine is first fired up.If I crack the throttle a bit the noise will disapear and may or may not reappear? The tick seems to go away at higher RPM's(above 2000).The noise is loudest at the exaust pipe and not so noticeable as I move my ear towards the crankcase.Anyone with suggestions or similar experiences? Just pray it isn't a camchain or the tensioner. Benelli has had issues with them in the past.
I just thought I could hear a Tititititit from mine this morning. Not good.,
runs and starts great til the the next day???? Won't start up in the morning but when I return in the afternoon it will start right up. I checked the spark plugs theyre' dry as a bone. I choked it still won't start up in the morning.,Check your battery. Make sure the electrolite level is correct as well as voltage being ok.
I went through the same problem (no start in the morning except bump-start) with my '86 Radian just this last week. Filled the bone-dry ( Embarassed ) battery and it started great this morning. ,,,
