800Kms on the clock ( It still has the original tyres ). It has never been registered and the Kms were largely done with trade plates from a South Australian bike shop in the 70's before being relegated to the back of the store. The person I bought it from had it 9 years and did little with it. I am not restoring but trying to fix the things needed to get it right and as close to original as possible.I need to remove the carbs to clean them properly. I am not sure which way the come out. It seems like I will ruin the old connection rubbers if I keep going the way that I am. What is the go? Also did this model have metal spark plug caps and is there anyone out there with the original fuel hose set up for sale? RegardsI have to say getting the carbs out on the 900 is a bit of a pig. The rubbers tend to go hard too. Not sure if this is exactly the same as on the 750 but what you can do is take out the battery disconnect the bits from the battery try and remove that, take out the air filter and its rubbers and then you have room to get the carbs back. Alternatively, if you want to get them off without taking the air box out, remove the rubbers between the air box and carbs first - try and wriggle them back into the air box - you can rescue them later from the other side (take the air filter out). This should give you enough room too. Hope that helps!,,,

just coz you put youre thumb over the hole and you have compression does not mean that you have good compression find out what the maximum pressure is supposed to be and get a porper compression tool.
oil from the exhaust is odd i think this could be v/v guides but it would not explain why exhaust is not getting hot.

Your issue is with your carbs, due to the prolonged sitting they have become gummed up and are causing your issue. I recommend removing them, completely disassembling them, and soaking in a quality carb cleaning solution, overnight.

Hello, first remove the chrome cover over the starter, remove the left cover and clutch cable. Disconect wire from starter, remove the top nut and bolt and the bolt on the rear (sheet metal) starter bracket, pull starter straight out past the seal. Hope this helps, Frank

Can u help with carb settings on my kawasaki gt750 trike conversion have recently bought her she seems to be fireing on only 3 cylinders doesnt like to idle in 1st gear


feel the exhaust at start up or pull the plugs and figure out which cylinder is giving trouble you may need to clean and vacuum balance the carbs

Oil type


10W-40 15W-40 etc As I am unable to tell how long the existing oil has been in the bike should a flushing oil be used befor changing the oil? Any help/suggestions/advice would be appreciated. Regards, ,according to 900 Sei WORKSHOP MANUAL Additions and changes to the workshop manual for 500 Quattro-750 Sei whose print date appears to be 2-80, AGIP SINT 2000 SAE 10 W 50 oil is to be used for the engine. I drained the oil and changed the filter on my 1979 750 with 380 miles on it last May. I bought the bike new but haven't used it since 1993. The oil and filter were again changed after 12 miles. regards,,,
