Nswer 1992 Honda CB 750 Nighthawk -- ****** is hard to down shift while riding, and goes into neutral between 3rd and 2nd?? i have never had this problen on any bike and am baffled. could it be as easy as...

This answere might be too late for you...
Sounds like your gearbox is a bot loose. Don't buy it! If the clutch does not completely disengage it will be harder to shift gears. But jumping into neutral after 3rd sounds like a worn out gearbox.

Bike needs to be in neutral to start but wont

The gear selecter mechanism impacts on a contact breaker, this completes a circuit allowing the starter to have power. Either the wire has a loose connection at the loom end, or the contact breaker is worn in the gearbox. Trace wire exiting crankcase towards rear of gearbox area for damage.
Ckeck also the tightness of the foot lever on the shaft, it may not be actuating gear selector forks fully to allow breaker contact. You may need to take the sidecover off and replace the contact breaker, or take it to your dealer/mechanic.
Goodluck, Cheers.

I JUST PURCHASED A GS 750 AND THE MOTOR WAS SPRAY PAINTED. WHAT SHOULD I USE TO GET THIS PAINT OFF OF MOTOR WITHOUT DAMAGE?

Use a small amount of paint thinner and a stiff brush. If you make sure and wash off the paint thinner when you are finished it should not harm any unpainted items it comes in contact with. If you choose to leave the paint there it won't affect your cooling much unless it was put on so heavy that it blocks the cooling fins on the head (pretty unlikely).
