Now that I got my bike running again I can now do a few projects. On the list for the bikes is a different (goal is quieter) muffler and a larger tank. I may start making radiator guards again if there is the interest to do it. I know that was like pulling teeth the last time to get enough interest though. Out of curiosity how many out there would be interested in signing up for a larger tank if that was to happen? I am quite certain that I can get close to .75 gal. more into a tank design. My goals for the tank design would be: -better air flow around filter -.75 gal more fuel (~20 more miles on a tank. That would put the range close to 90 miles) -Natural color to see fuel level easily (colors may be an option or custom labels) Does anyone know if they are currently using a x-linked material on the tanks? Does anyone else have any other suggestions? It would would be great to incorporate any other ideas. Thanks for any input. ,I'd be interested in your Tank but I don't think an Opaque tank would be good for ther dale, they discolour very quickly and look bad after about 1 year (KTM) but more air flow would go down well especialy if it came in under the rad side panels. ,,,

Hi I just bought a 1987xj900 without the fuel tank connected,it has 3 pipes facing up coming from the back of the carbs and 3 smaller pipes facing down,I presume the down pipes are for air and vapour but...

from memory
a fuel line( runs to a fitting on carbs which feeds all carbs with a common tube)
a vacumn line to opperate the fuel tap(slightly larger diameter comes off the manifold)
a tank breather line

Hi my names daniel ive got a sym xs 125cc k and i cant find my fuel filter on the bike

most of the times it is part of the fuel petcock. It would be more of a strainer then a filter. It is used to catch the larger particles that may be in the fuel. This usually requires no cleaning, unless you poured in really dirty fuel or your fuel tank has rust on the inside. Any sediment that makes it to the carb(s) is collected in the float bowl. You can drain this sediment by opening the float bowl drain screw. Use a screw driver of proper size as these screws are very soft. Draining of the float bowl should be done periodically.

Have a 1980 suzuki gs550l w/o tank, got a new tank but dont know which lines go together theres four lines on the carb

there is a small port on top of the second carb on the right, that goes to the small port on the fuel petcock mounted to the tank. The main fuel supply (larger port on tank) goes to the bottom fuel supply rail with the only carb port on that rail. The upper two ports between #1 & #2 carb and between #3 & #4 carbs are vents and those hoses get plumbed down under the air cleaner, careful not to pinch the vent hoses or the bowls will not fill up with gas. This is the same for an automatic petcock or a manual one.

2002 Suzuki VL1500 Intruder lc fuel tank can i get a larger tank or an extra tank.

Never hear of an after market tank for the intruder, the tank is located under the seat and holds only 3 gallons. You can get aprox 120-130 miles on a tank full.

Hi my scooter velocity (chineese) 150-07 does not start it start but dies I think th egas is not arriving where supposed to. Can you help?

open the seat, remove the screw at the bottom and lift the cover. that is the carburetor, pull the fuel line (the larger rubber hose off, then pull the smaller hose off the fuel valve under the gas tank and **** on it a tiny bit, if you taste gas it is bad, and if fuel doesn't come out of the larger hose you pulled off the carburetor it is bad. if fuel comes out when you **** and stops when you dont, then you just need to clean your carburetor. hope that helps.

Fuel diagram ...where hoses go ...for a 1978 gs

4 small tubes from the bottom of the float bowls, are drain hoses and should be routed between the rear of the engine and the frame.
the 4 small upper hoses are vapor relief hoses and should be routed under the airbox.
The final larger hose or hoses depending on tank are fuel inlet hoses and will connect to the fuel petcock on the Gas Tank

Fuel tank

Yes I think Moose makes one and there is another plastics company that makes one. Call Rocky Turner or similar catalog. I think it is around $150.00. Take heed that you need metal tank to be street legal, although I know plenty of people with DR 650's that thump around on the street with plastic tanks without a problem.
