SOURCE: CARB PROBLEMS TTR 125 06 Reg

Hi,

Offhand, fuel overflow could be brought about by:

  • misadjusted/punctured float; and/or
  • dirt/sand lodged in the fuel inlet valve. Often this fuel inlet valve is a pin with one end pointed (sometimes rubber) and is controlled by the float.
A seized starter plunger would have to be replaced. This problem could have been brought about by:
  • short/jumping contacts of the starter switch;
  • sticking/corroded terminals/contactors of the starting relay.
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Trace the starter wire to the solenoid. Any loose connections? Check the other heavy wire to the solenoid. It should have power present at all times. If no click from the solenoid when the starter button is pressed, check the wiring connections coming from the handlebar. Lastly, look at the starter switch for possible damage from the spill.

How do i line up timing marks 2004 yamaha ttr125

Remove flywheel inspection cover and with a socket rotate flywheel retaining nut as this will be easily accessible once the inspection cover is removed.

2001 yamaha 125 ttr smokes like an old two stroke that needs rings. Smoke is white in color and is very oily smelling. The spark plug was completly fouled with carbon. Just started it up after sitting all...

Did it smoke like that before parking it for the winter? Might suggest you run it a few hours or a bunch of miles after adding 1/2 can of SeaFoam to the fuel to see if it clears up. Rings may be stuck from setting up all winter. Running it may free them. If after running at least a half to full tank of fuel it hasn't cleared up, it probably needs rings
