The clutch in my secondhand engine does exactly the same it's not too bad when the engine is cold but has a tendency to drag a little till it warms up. When hot there is quite a racket until I pull the lever. This engine came out of a written off RSV trackday bike and has had a much harder life than my original one. I reckon that it's time for both of us to rebuild our clutches no doubt someone on here can confirm my suspicion.,,,

Aprilia 2002 rsv mille 1000cc not starting

Hi Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine run switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, loose, corroded or broken battery cables, especially the "NEGATIVE" cable at both ends (solenoid chatters).
4. Bank angle sensor tripped and ignition/light key switch not cycled to the "OFF" position and then back to the "ON" position.
5. Security alarm needs a reset.
6. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
7. Electric starter shaft pinion gear is not engaging or over-running starter clutch slipping.

1989 yamaha fj 1200 minor backfiring while backing down through the gears

back firing down through the gears means the engine is allowing unburnt fuel into the exhaust box --muffler--. Reasons can be exhaust valve clearance incorrect--- to rich or lean--ignition timing needs setting correctly. Rattly at cold and I take it that yours is still air cooled would be normal as the piston clearance is greatest until the piston heats up and expands to operating tolerance.. Check and adjust the tappet (valve)clearance and check for worn areas under the rocker face as the valve wear a small hole here making adjustment difficult.

Have a rsv Mille on a 2000 reg and seems to clutch slip a higher revs in 5 th gear have replaced plates and slip plates can any one help

Hi, Zarajane2010 for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix or parts inquiry. If necessary transport your vehicle to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your issue. 03 aprilia Mille doesn't start. Sometimes it turns

Hi, Aleksandr and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.

1999 RSV Mille 20K miles, clutch seems to slip at high revs

The bike has led a hard life. This takes a toll on the clutch friction plates. Just install a new set of fiber friction plates and all should be well. When installing the plates also check the springs. You may want to install new springs as well.

Tire deal at Cycle Gear

both the BT-014 and -021 ... $90 for a 120 front and $110 for a 180 rear. I've never run Bridgestones but I am thinking about an -021 in the rear and the stickier -014 up front. Any opinions? hear they are pretty good...in MotoGP anyways JCR has BStones on his CBR...they were real sticky...and he claims they last quite a while too. ,
