I shorted out the fuse controlling the headlights and instrument panel. I replaced the fuse and now the bike will not start. Headlights instrument panel and everything else works fine on the bike and it tries to turn over but no go. I tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and also charging/jumping the thing off my big truck but nothing. Anybody have an idea what the problem is? ,Check the plug like above says, read a review and the guy had it break down during the review, turned out the plug wire was attached to the frame, but engine acts as swing arm so it pulled it off when he hit a bump. Otherwise i would worry about perhaps an inline fure to the fuel injection or something. You need spark, air, and fuel. You're obviously getting air, there was nothing to change that. So check spark and then fuel. Does the exhaust smell rich like it's flooding when you try to start it? If not i would guess fuel, if it does go for spark. Good luck.,,,

How to install a HID kit in your car or truck

If you have seen those newer vehicles with the bright bluish headlights and want to install them on your car its a fairly simple installation and an awesome accessory to any vehicle here are the step by step instructions
1. remove your existing headlight bulb or if you have a seal beam headlight you have to buy an H4 housing specific to your vehicle
2. connect the hid ballast to its respective power source
3. connect the hib bulb to the igniters DO NOT TOUCH THE BULB GLASS
4. install the bulb into your stock or after-market light housing
5. mount the ballasts in a place under your hood where they wont heat up, like behind the housing
6. test the lights and make sure that they are both lit and solidly lit not "fluttering"

7.tape all connections lightly with electrical tape and close hood
NOTES *any bulbs that arent 6k bright white are 100% ILLEGAL

*a standard HID kit has only the low beam which is like in between hi and low

*if you want both beams get a BI-Xenon kit that has hi-low beams

I have a 2003 Saturn Ion 1 and bought the xenon hid 9007/HB5 kit. Hid low beams and halogen high beams no bi-xenon bulbs. The high beams work but lows do not. Neither ballast seems to be getting any power?...

The Saturn ion wasn't meant to have H.I.D.installed in them.
Since you want to install these and blind everyone, check what you grounded the ballast to, you probably don't have them grounded properly.

How do I get the low beams to run automatically whenever driving instead of flickering?

if you did it yourself and did not use factory lights or ballast then it could be a voltage detection problem. If you did use factory parts then the headlight switch may have failed by coincidence. also check connections at HL plugs and or switch. ???????????

Cadillac cts ballast

If the bulb has a black plastic base it is a halogen bulb and has no ballast. If it has a metal base it is an HID bulb and the ballast is inside the metal base. The HID bulb looks like this:

HEADLIGHTS DO NOT WORK, BUT HIGH BEAMS DO AND SO DO TURN SIGNALS AND SIDE MARKERS

The HID requires a ballast, did you do any rewiring? Did you check the fuses? Unplug the relay either hi or low, use jumper wire between terminals 30 and 87, the lamps should work, I'm talking about your regular lamps. If they work with the jumper, then check control side of relay.

How do i wire up hid headlights on 2005 mazda 3

To wire up an HID kit on the low beams of your Mazda 3 2005, you will need 3-4 things:
1- HID kit (bulbs and ballasts)
2- HID relay (connects your hid kit to your battery)
3- 4700uF capacitor (solves DRL flickering issue)
4- H7 hid bulb adaptor (you can also use the rubber piece that holds the bulb wires as a spacer)

Wiring diagram:
http://www.carsets.co.uk/upload/temp/images/hid-light-installation-photo-display.jpg

Tips on How to wire up:
1. HID bulb's amp wires connects with the ballast's amp wires. (There's only one way to connect them.)
2. The positive and the negative spade connectors from the hid relay connect with your vehicle's low beam connector, closest to your battery: the driver side. The passenger side low beam connector is not used and should be insulated. You can use electric tape.)
3. Each ballast is connected to one of the relay's clip connector, and it's grounded on each side to your vehicle's body. (One connector for each ballast, one for each side. You can use the screw for the body as a ground.)
4. The red wire(with the inline fuse) in the relay connects to your battery's positive terminal.
5. The capacitor sits on the relay switch. (Google for how to wire the capacitor onto the hid relay switch.) dynoxg image
6. The halogen bulb sits on an adapter. You can safely remove them from each other, and use an H7 hid adapter instead.
