I just dropped off my '08 Beo 125 for first scheduled service and left my manual in the seat. Anyone know offhand when the second one is due? Who here changes their oil between services and how often? Any winterizing or storage tips?Your next service would be at 3,108 mi, which is basically just a check of the brake pads, engine oil and ail filter. I plan on doing all much maintenance as I can do myself (I don't want to have fork out $90hr for my dealer to drain the oil and replace the filters),,,

Hi there 1. looking for service and repair manual please. 2. I understand that oil change is every 2500 miles =4020 kilometres is that correct? Thanks and awaiting your reply Alan

If you have a new Fiddle II 125 and you still haven't changed out the factory lubricants, you need to change them out a.s.a.p. They should have been drained-out and replaced somewhere pretty close to 300 kilometers (around 186 miles), which is according to the Fiddle's owner's manual (see periodical maintenance schedule, pg. 23).

For first time engine oil replacement, use a good brand of 10W-30 conventional motor oil. For the first time transmission oil replacement, maybe use a conventional or semi-synthetic SAE 85W-140 gear lube.

Once you reach around a 1000 miles, I would suggest the switch-over to synthetics in both applications. Amsoil 4-stroke Synthetic Scooter Oil is touted as the best engine oil for your machine.

Maintenance schedule 2008 yz 250

How about an complete factory service manual instead of just a maintenance schedule? Go to the site below and do a free download of the manual AND a parts fitch manual. These manuals are about 4 years old but 95% of what is there is still accurate for your 2008.

Top rating due on this one! Thanks!

Buying tips

i'm about to purchase a 03 749 w abt 4000miles. mostly stock except for some CF add-ons. used to ride a monster400(yes they do have 400cc monsters!) back in my country and the maintenence wasn't costly. was just wondering if you guys could offer me some advise mostly abt cost of maintenence. i would love to be mentally prepared for the costs involved..(tried to find these info in the forums but couldnt really get a definite answer) 1)i understand the 6K service would be up soon. any rough estimates on the cost of it? 2) is it about the same for the 12k service? 2) is the 6K and 12 K service(and so on every 6K) the only major ones the 749 need? 3)in between these how often should i send her for a regular servicing? (change of engine oil, spark plugs, etc)? any help would be truly appreciated and cant wait to get back on a ducati!,First piece of advice, use the search function on this forum. You will be flamed otherwise. This question has been asked a million times. The cost of servicing a Ducati will depend on the state of the bike. Generally, however, all interval services between 6000 and 12,000 miles will cost the same as any Japanese four. The major services, and this includes the 6000 and 12000 services will generally cost you between $600-$1200. This is a ball park figure, as this depends: (a) on the honesty of the mechanic; and (b) things like the valve clearance and age of the belts and the general condition of the bike. As you have a 2003 749 with 4000 miles, expect the next service to be at the higher end of the scale because the bike will have to have the belts, fluids, valves and everthing checked or changed. This is because Ducati specify their maintenance schedule in terms of X,000 miles or 2 years, whatever comes sooner. This schedule is repeated throughout the bikes life and as time goes will come to include such things as the forks, etc. I suggest that you do not skimp on any of this. However, Ducati's and especially the 749/999 bikes are not ticking reliability time bombs. If you look after your bike it will last you for many years to come, providing a fantastic ownership experience along the way. I hope this is of some help.,,,
