Race Fairing and Air Temp Sensor Relocation

Just picked up my Catalyst Race Fairing painted by MC Pro Design (He does FANTASTIC work!) and started to fit them up yesterday. It was mostly going smoothly except for the kickstand bracket which actually has to come off

A concern about the front fairing stay mounting points and possibly trimming the area by the exhaust (Akra pipe seems fatter than other). The product itself is top quality but I have a question regarding the location of the air temp sensor. I was going to drill hole either near the front or the back of the supplied air tubes: As long as it's inside the tube it's fine. I drilled mine about 3 from the front. It doesn't know up from down __________________ ,,,

YES YOU CAN SEPERATE THE FAIRING BRACKET FROM THE FAIRING REMOVE THE HEADLIGHTS AND ALL OTHER FIXINGS , SOME RACE FAIRINGS OR AFTERMARKET FAIRINGS HAVE MARKINGS OF THE HOLE LOCATIONS FOR THE ORIGINAL BRACKET, WHICH MAY REQUIRE DRILLING OUT OBVIOUSLY YOU WONT BE REPLACING THE MIRRORS BUT THE FAIRING WILL STILL NEED FIXING AT THIS POINT

My car has the code P0420 and p1111, which is what I do?

p0420 refers to "catalyst efficiency low bank 1" and p1111 is air temp sensor circuit voltage high. replace your air temp sensor and it is probably in the mass air flow sensor so thats what going to be replaced. then have the codes cleared. cheers

http://www.bikebandit.com/ http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/ http://www.drumhillcycle.com/ If racing only I would not waste time/weight on a speedometer, use a tachometer only. But you can try http://www.jpcycles.com/ for generic will fit parts. The airtech site has factory type and race only fairings and can suggest brackets needed. You can also try e-bay for a complete fairing setup w/ decals, will be the least expensive, and lighter weight than factory.

I am fitting a race fairing to my 2001 FS-1. How

You cannot bypass them. The ECU will malfunction if it does not detect them. You just have to tie wrap them on somewhere and make a base out of aluminum plates to fit the angle sensor horizontally.

Wireing tempature gauge

Outside temp sensor located at inner fairing, it is tied to left fairing frame just above cigarette lighter.
On OEM parts,
Air Temp Gauge pin#1 = Orange +12 Volt
Air Temp Gauge pin#2 = Black - ground
Air Temp Gauge pin#3 = Air Temp sensor pin#1
