If this is the same as the RS125 cable i changed then the cable goes into the clutch cover engine casing yes? You do not have to take the whole engine apart you need to disconnect the cable from the lever and then you will have to take the clutch cover off. before you do this you will need to lean the bike on its side as you will lose the gearbox oil otherwise. plus the cluch will fall out as it is held in with dowels and not bolted (stupid design) once you have the cover off then you can disconnect the cable. if your gentle when taking the cover off then u will not have to replace the gasket however this rarely happens you will deffianly need to get a new gasket about 4quid. reconnect your new cable and then put the gasket on and be carefull wen putting the casing back on the engine making sure you do not damage the new gasket.
hope this helps.

Nowind off the adjuster on the lever that you pull. Then pull the nipple and cable out.Loosen the adjuster at the engine and do the same(it may be a good idea to photograph exactly where the cable feeds down).Once you have disconnected at both endsyou can now feed the whole cable out.Refitting is the reversebut make sure it doesn't snag or kink anywhere and the bars turn freely without affecting operation of the clutch.Once fitted you should adjust to give 2-4mm free play on the lever.,,,

I guess youwillhaveto adjust the clutch cable so as to open the plates more at the pressure plates to let the clutch plate rotate freely instead of binding thus the low rpm.

After changing the gearbox oil on my aprilia

Dump the special oil and go back to 10w40 motor oil. The manufacturer does not recommend any "special" oils be used. They can cause the clutch friction disks to swell among other problems like you currently are having. If possible, stick with the name brands; Shell, Mobil, Pennzoil, Quaker State, etc.. It may take awhile to rid the bike of the synthetic oil but get it out of the gearbox as soon as possible.

Please take a moment to rate this answer. Thanks Tim.
