Hi everyone19000 mls and the right hand side front wheel bearing is completely trashedflat bearings crumbling and totaly vapourised bearings. yes i do powerwash the bike occassionally, and i do torque the front wheel spindle to the correct numbers, the left hand bearing is OK,this is the second time the right hand bearing has failed, this time more dramatic than the 1st,no warning,no rusty watermarks, Still only £20 for new bearings and seals what the hell, nothing else has gone wrong, and she still rattles the rev-limiter. ,Here's a tip to make your bearing last a bit longer - applies to all bikes - remove the black rubber seal using a fine bladed screw driver, carefully prising it out from the centre. Practise on the old bearing first. Once the rubber seal is off just look a see how much (or how little) grease the manufacturers put in there - add some good qualilty grease. pop back the seals and fit. May have do both sides Works for dirt bikes and especailly if you pressure wash your bike. ,,,

How do I replace front wheel bearings on 2008

Hi, replacing the front wheel bearings on any vehicle is difficult if you don,t have the right tools, as the driveshaft and wheel hub (where the bearing is seated) needs to be removed. The hub housing the bearing may have to be heated (depending on corrosion) when the bearing is being pressed out, by using a heavy duty vice , and the new bearing is pressed in using the vice and the old bearing as a guide. I would strongly suggest you refer this repair to someone who has done this before, I personally would not undertake to change front bearings ever again, the first time for me was an experience I wouldn't want to undertake again. All the best.

2006 Cadillac DTS makes noise when the wheel is turned, noise started after wheel bearings were replaced in the two front wheels

If it's a "squealing" sound - check the power steering fluid. If it's more of a grinding sound - then the wheel bearings were not properly "packed" with grease. Note - the grease needs to forced into the bearings by hand while rotating the bearings. I had a this problem myself when a "mechanic" just smeared some grease around the bearings.

I replaced the front wheel bearing on my 2004 mazda 6s. After a couple of days the wheel is loose again, has a wobble and is making a humming noise. Is it possible the wheel bearing was not seated...

It is very possible and it is also that the spacer between the bearings has been left out (front wheel drive) Pull the hub again to check for damage and adjust properly

Roaring sound front left wheel, maybe a wheel bearing?

It could be the the wheel bearing...again, as you said. I also would like to know if you had the front end aligned when you changed the wheel bearing. If the tires have excessive wear on the outside or inside tread, you are out of alignment and BOTH wheel bearings need to be changed! It could also be the brakes wearing thin...check it out!

I have a ford explorer 2004 /2005, and is given this heavy noise at the front wheel while the there is an increase in speed, what are the signs of a hub bearing, because i am suspecting the front hub...

The best way to check is to lift the corner of the vehicle clear f the ground and then with a trolley jack lift the lower wishbone to put pressure on the suspension spring. This removes any force on the ball joints and bearings associated with the wheel hub. Grab the wheel 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock and rock the wheel from side to side to side. If there is any slack or minor play you will feel it first and possible see and hear it. Now take the wheel in the 6 o'clock and noon positions and and again check for play. Now remove the wheel and apply the rocking motions again to the naked hub. You should be able to see any fault with the steering knuckle, the wishbone control arm ball joints and bushes along with any play in the hub bearing. The bearing should run smooth and you should neither feel or hear any roughness from the bearing. If there is a lot of play detected try this: Remove the locking pin on the main bearing nut and then tighten the nut until free rotation of the hub begins to become stiff. Now loosen the main nut by two flats only and refit the locking pin. Refit the wheel. When driving, a worn bearing is indicated by a persistent whining growl. On front wheels the noise often gets worse during a turn as the weight of the vehicle is transferred. While the wheel is off check the condition of the brake rotor ensuring there are no warps or cracks. A damaged rotor is indicated often by a thump thump sound front he wheel and this is accentuated and felt through the brake pedal when the brakes are applied

My car makes a loud rumbling noise when i accelerate and gets louder as i go faster, if i turn my wheel slightly to the left all the noise and vibration stops and it sounds normal again

I believe the bearings in the front wheel are about to come to the end.
Have it checked in a garage.... NOW! otherwise you will be driving on 3 wheels... sooon.

1998 Mercury Mountaineer wheel bearing What tools are needed to change the front wheel bearing on a four wheel drive.

2x2 = nothing special since they are old fashion tapered bearings

4x4 = nothing special again BUT the wheel bearing is part of the hub assembly!
