Took my Capo in for a tire/sprocket change. The servive guy noticed a wet front fork and some residue down to the brakes and wheel. I have been noticing less braking power up front but failed to make the connection.
On order: front fork seals....
While I am at it I was wondering if this would be a good time to change fork springs? If yes

What are the considerations given my weight and riding style ? Is it better to modify rear spring firstWould save the labour fitting the springs when the seals are done .
Bets to fit a set front and rear however just front is still an improvement but you may soon find the back isn't up to it , because springs ideally should be matched.
Using higher preload on the rear will help , but you will run out of pre load 2 up and loaded.

The right hand side of the axle requires a 17 or 19mm Allen key to remove it properly. That side of the axle slides thru the fork and the shoulder spaces the wheel. It is retained by the 2 pinch bolts on each fork leg. If you don't have the big Allen key, do this-
Remove the axle nut on the brake side. Remove the 2 bolts that hold the brake caliper on and swing it out of the way.Loosen the pinch bolts. The axle should slide out now-if it's corroded, you may need a hammer and a drift to drive it out. Be careful not to damage the threads.Note the spacer on the brake rotor side.When putting it back together, clean and lightly grease the axle. Also grease the inside of the lip seals for the bearings. Reinstall the wheel, with the hex end of the axle flush with the fork leg. Tighten the pinch bolts on that side only, and torque the axle nut to about 40NM. Loosen the pinch bolts,and compress your forks down a couple of times. This insures your fork legs are parallel and the wheel is centered. Tighten the pinch bolts, reinstall the caliper and you're good to go!

Brake Disk, front Brake disk front Loctite 243 1 11ft lbs
The teloscopic forks have mounts for disc brakes so you would need forks from a bike with disc brakes and the front tire with the rotor and caliper all off the same bike so it would all bolt up. Most forks are the same diameter but measure to make sure.

Then it dawned on me it was that fricking '68 beetle engine that was not only blowing oil smoke but oil as well! Wew almost had a heart attack but next time I'll keep a fair distance behind smoking old cars especially rear engined VWs with no engine cover!,Lucky one, my Capo with 8000 Km had to change the a seal from fork.,,,
