There might be something that sorta seems to match up but I would be wary about Fram filters.....every thing I have read about them in recent years has not been complimentary for example: http://people.msoe.edu/~yoderw/oilfi...study.html#wix ,

When the engine is very hot it will stop or overheat

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Insufficient oil supply, or oil not circulating.
2. Insufficient air flows over the engine.
3. Heavy carbon deposits.
4. Ignition timing retarded due to faulty MAP, CKP, and/or CMP sensors.
5. Leaking intake or exhaust valve.
6. Water coolant low or pump failure.

It seems that there are diferent types of filters, need to know the correct ones for 1990 Yamaha yx 600 Radian. ....fuel filter, oil filter, and engine oil? thank you. APB

I RECOMMEND THE YAMAHA OIL FILTER FOR IT HAS A BETTER RELIEF VALVE. RECOMMENDED ENGINE OIL IS YAMALUBE 20W50 ALL PURPOSE. THERE IS NO FUEL FILTER,AS IT IS BUILT IN THE GAS VALVE.YOU CAN PUT IN A SMALL INLINE FILTER IF YOU LIKE.

Oil blowing out throttle body on filter and blowing down the side of bike. I had a new crankcase breather valve kit installed one month ago. It was fine until two days ago. All o-rings were replaced also.

The oil may not be coming out of the throttle body. The crankcase breather system is actually in the rocker box covers. Yes, there is a breather gear in the crankcase but that is for the oil return to the oil pump.

The crankcase ventilation system vents crankcase pressure into the air cleaner as required by the EPA. The purpose is to route oil mist contained in the crankcase ari that is vented into the engine to be burned. There are 'umbrella valves" in the center section of the rocker boxes. Over time, the heat makes these pieces get hard and brittle since they are made of a type of rubber. When this happens, they don't stop the oil mist as well as they used to. The oil mist is blown into the air filter where it coaleses into drops of oil. This is normal for any Harley due to their engine design.

But, if it's too bad, I'd suggest replacing the umbrella valves. Simply remove the top and center section of the rocker boxes by removing the six bolts that hold the parts on the top of each cylinder. Replace the umbrella and the edge gaskets and replace the covers. Torque the bolts to 10-13 foot pounds.

Good Luck

I need to know the type of oil and filter for an oil change ?

Your Honda dealer can supply you with the correct oil filter. If you don't have a dealer near you, an auto store or farm store can usually order a Fram oil filter equivalent. DO NOT use car oil in your motorcycle, it will shorten wet clutch and transmission gear life. Honda recommends 10w-40 or 20w-50 weight oil with a JASO MA rating. Any oil that says "energy conserving" on the label should be avoided.

a small plastic clear bottle that can fit near the rear of the engine and shove all lines you have into it : coolant, fuel, oil, whatever, even a small aluminum pan tied off underneath with some lockwire will work.

What type of oil filter does my suzuki intruder 1500 use?

All VL 1500s use a spin on type oil filter (just like the ones used on most cars). The filter is located on the front of the engine right between the lower oil cooler lines. Just follow the lines from the cooler to the engine and you'll see it. You will probably have to go to a cycle shop or order it on-line to get one though. Although your local auto parts store might be able to order you one as well.
The FRAM part # is PH 6018. If your local parts store doesn't carry FRAM filters they can cross reference the number or should be able to look it up for you.

Good Luck.

Neeed oil change information

I always use a fram filter from advance auto parts. As for oil, The older bike should not run synthetic oil. The clutches were not designed for it and can cause slipping. I use Valvoline 5w30. Should hold around 3 quarts. There should be a dipstick or site glass on the right side of the engine, almost behind the exhaust.

Oil filter

On the front of the motor at the bottom just behind the front tire. The oil filter is inside the housing. There are three small nuts and one bolt to remove before you can get to the oil filter.
