Fairings or front wheel. Should I try to sell it as is or part it out? The engine runs and only 700 miles on it. What is a good asking price if i was to sell it as whole? Any advise helps. Thanks. If it matters I live in Washington State.Around this area an engine with the fuel system and full ignition system, would bring about $1200 to the guys doing the micro-cars. Take that, and look on E-Bay to get an idea of the value of the other major compnents you have that are usable. Total that up, and decide how much less you'd take to not have to fool with it, and that's your as is price. For that model the engine is worth more whole, than parting it out IMO,,,

Knocking after being wrecked

Sounds like it jumped time mechanically. Keep in mind young men with Daddy's bike want to show off and be a badass. Having said that the motor was probably revved up and over into the red line and treated like hell bent for leather. A hard backfire can cause a connecting rod to be bent. The engine was most probably also very hot when it hit the water... oh ! STUFF. Cracked something? I hope not. If the bike is your baby, I suggest a complete dis-assembly and inspection before something breaks and causes more serious damage.

I dont know exactly what happened my buddy had my bike out and wrecked it .. Looks like the front wheel came back into the radiator. Its not in the radiator now. But I know something is bent because the...

The forks usually bend well before the frame.
Take the forks off the bike and turn the chrome part in the fork leg and you will soon see if they are bent.
If they are only slightly bent a dial gauge will help.
Dont even think about having them straightened, get new ones

Cant get bike to go into nuetral bike was wrecked on left side before i owned it what could be problem

Most likely it is your shifter and linkage, they are on the left side and would have been damaged in a slide or collision on the side. something in this linkage got bent either internally or extenally.

When my dirtbike is finally warmed up it begins to spit and sputter. I wrecked and bent my head pipe slightly. Would this cause my bike to want to die? When it is cold it runs just fine.

Hi, you dont say what this bike is, is it. Two or four stroke engine,
On a 2stroke this type of problem could simply be carbon jumping around between the gap on the plug,
Or a crankshaft oil seal leaking,

How long will it take to change the frame?

Talk to the Honda dealer, tell them you want the bike totalled by the insurance company. If they balk at it and you can afford it, have the bike towed to a different shop and go through them. Was the bike wreck your fault or did a cager get you? If the accident was not your fault, go after the other party's insurance. If this is your insurance, tell them you want it totalled. If they tell you that Honda can do this, explain to them why you want the bike totalled. You could do what I did when my Harley got run over; the frame was bent and the stealership told the lady's insurance (State Farm) they could rebuild the bike so State Farm was going to pay $9000 to fix the bike. I called State Farm and told them it needed to be totalled, they balked at first but then I told them, "When, not if, the bike fails on the interstate at 70mph and I am hospitalized, I will sue you and Southside Harley for everything you're worth because of your incompetence!"

They totalled my bike. I got a check for the value of the bike and bought another bike.

Can i straighten the front forks up if I loosen the nut on the headstock, move the fork legs, and retighten the nut again? the bike is a VL800 k5.

Loosen the front fender, the axle retaining bolts, plus the upper and lower headstock bolts and nuts so that the whole assembly is free to align. Tighten the fender last. If that doesn't restore wheel alignment, you may have bent tubes that need straightening or replacement. Was the bike in a front-end wreck?

I want to get back into motocross and have been told that the 2006 KTM sx 250 is the bike to buy. Is this true

My honest opinion? (40 years of riding, three years of motocross, and 15 years of hare scrambles)
All bikes are good, KTM...Honda...Kawasaki...Yamaha...Suzuki
It really up to maintenance, rider ability, and of course a newer the bike doesn't hurt either.
Go with what you can get parts for, and you'll be able to work with.

ProClean is good stuff but not worth the money. The only reason I had it was because I won a create of it at our clubs Supercross race it's too expensive in my opinion. I buy 40 litre containers of stuff called TFR which stands for Traffic Film Remover, it basically is a detergent like ProClean, Simple Green and all the others, only it costs a fraction of the price and isn't deluted. This means you can delute it to your own strength for different causes. You can see it removing dirt as you watch, like someone said above. You can not use it pure on the bike however, it will make alloy parts go dull - as my buddy found out lol. ,,,
