2000 rpm and I cleaned bottom of carbs. Someone told running them on full choke would foul out plugs. The bike runs but only when I pull choke all the way out.If it only runs with the choke on it might have a vacuum leak or an air restriction which the choke is counteracting. (very lean fuel mix). To locate a leak you could try spraying CRC around the rubber carb connections and see if the idle speed is affected.,

Can a loose/cracked autolube delivery hose cause vacuum leak on 1976 yamaha dt125 with autolube? Also, is it necessary for rubber crankcase holder for the oil & delivery hoses to be completely sealed?

Hi, Tod you may have a carburetor issue, replace your autolube line and not sure about the hose grommet but you can smear a light film of vaseline all around the sealing edges, start the engine and watch what happens if it gets sucked in or blown out seal as necessary with silicone otherwise the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel cap or fuel tank is not venting properly.
2. Fuel filter clogged.
3. Fuel line pinched or kinked.
4. Float needle and seat sticking.
5. Float level too low.
6. Carburetor bowl vent line clogged/blocked/pinched.
7. Idle adjusting screw set too low.
8. Air/fuel mixture screw set too lean.
9. Idle port, transfer ports, slow air jet clogged.
10. Slow fuel jet clogged.
11. Faulty fuel pump.

95 suzuki 250 quad king, at full throttle it runs at half power, choke seems inop

First make sure your choke circuit is working. May be an indication that your carb needs to be cleaned. I wouldn't replace it yet= clean it. If the choke circuits and the carb check out fine. An unresponsive motor/ carb usually means bad valves or valve timing. Example: it runs rich, spits fuel out the carb no matter how lean you set it. Even with the idle air closed it runs rich... intake valve is not closing or closing late. In that case it needs valves serviced.

The bike is a 250 DT1 1972 model. I runs but I'm not sure in what position (up or down) the choke lever should be in. Thanks

If it's a butterfly style choke with a plate on the back of the carb, remove the boot that goes to the air cleaner and you'll be able to see the choke plate. If you can't get your head in there to see, stick a finger in there and operate the lever. When it's blocking the throat, it's on.
If the lever is in the front of the carb, it's not really a choke. It's an enrichening valve, that controls a brass valve that opens a port to allow extra fuel into the carb. Whatever direction of the lever pulls it up, that's on. Good luck, cool old enduro!

The engine revs to red line but there is a really noticeable loss of torque , the bike is running on premium fuel . this power loss comes a month after a complete tune up including valve adj. .the change...

sounds like the choke may not be opening. you should take it back to the place that gave it a full tune up

Will only run in full choke mode

Try a fuel additive to clean the system, also if the airfilter is dirty or damp, this can cause problems.
You may even have a rust problem in the barrels.
Or even the engine oil may have thickened causing a resistance in the crank bearings, so flush the engines oil ways if other solutions don't work.

I have a PR4 125 Enduro and the top speed is 82.6

The guy I bought it from took great care of this bike for five years but only rode it 577 miles in that time period. If I let it sit for longer than an hour I have to use the choke to get it kickstarted. I let it idle around 1800 - 2200 rpms is that too high? The carb on a bike that old surely needs cleaned. There are two small jets in it one with a very small hole, just buy a new one. Thats idling way too fast, about 1,000 rpm is right.,,,
