1995 Ford changed front rotors and everything seems fine, but on stopping the Abs comes on at the last minute. How do you adjust the sensors?

I replaced the front rotors and the Pedal, brakes all seems fine at the end of braking when you just come to a stop the ABS comes on. Is this because the speed sensors are touching the rotors? how do I adjust them?

You can not adjust them you can replace them or take them out and file down the rust where the speed sensor sits.

SOURCE: ABS braking

have you check? the master cylinder. sometine when you get the rotors cut they dont come out right because they may be warped or to thin. if you did the job yourself you might have put the calipers in on the wrong side. this happens alot . if your rotors front and rear are fine then switch the calipers to the other side.

SOURCE: brakes

This seems like two different vehicles with two different problems. first the 1997 Ford Explorer- with new rotors and pad. I can almost guaranty that the rotor and pads that were replace are "after market" parts. If it is true, then the brake pad are at fault 95% of the time, the other 5% is the rotor. This because alot of after market parts are alot cheaper and are poorly manufactured out of cheap materials. I would recommend Motor-craft rotors and pads for this vehicle and that would take care of this problem. However if it is original parts on the car the dust shield on the hub may be to blamed, may have gotten bent into rotor during brake job. As far as ABS re-learn braking pattern that all BS that's absolutely 100% NOT TRUE. I am ASE certified in brakes and I never heard of such nonsense. As for the 1999 Explorer this problem is the ABS system applying it self prematurely. The sound that you feel on the pedal is when the ABS is active. Most common reason for this is a bad abs/wheel speed sensor, it could have gotten damaged during the brake job or grease or rust or something is between the sensor and sensor gear/ring. I have seen this many times before, just re-check everything. The abs becomes active because it detects a slip or brakes locking up or in your case maybe a false reading from sensor. Good luck and contact me if you need more help

SOURCE: ABS light comes on and stays on after about 5 minutes of driving

Sounds like an abs sensor or a pick up ring. The sensor is normally bolted to the hub assembly and the pick up ring is on the end of the drine shaft on the front or the back of the rear bearing hub on the rear. Bet you the garage who did your brakes knocked a sensor with a hammer and damaged the wire to one of the sensors.

SOURCE: ABS activating at each stop

most likely have a bad wheel speed sensor- you can either take it to the local ford dealer to have them tell you what sensor it is, or you can remove the abs fuse and it will disable the abs alltogether. your brakes will work normaly, they WILL lock up if you stop fast.hope this helps and good luck

Sounds like you ABS is working correctly, the light will come on when the system is activated, and from the sounds of things(oil pan broke) it did. Were the rotors for the brakes checked for run out? Sounds like a warped or bent rotor. If you were having problems with the ABS the light would stay on, deactivating the system.

Brakes

you may have to take the rotors back off completely and look for the baby brake shoes behind the rotors because sometimes they will hang up and give you some of the problems you are having

there is more than likely a piece of rust stuck to one of the front abs wheel speed sensors. this happens during brake service sometimes.

I wouldn't think that its a problem with abs , sounds like they didnt turn the drums right . they are probably still egg shaped (warped) thats why they lock-up before the front . I would replace them with new ones instead of having them turned . some drums get so warped that they cant get them back round .
