Question about 2007 KTM SX 105
Hello guys I have a 2007 KTM 105 SX that I just bought. Its a 2 stroke, of course, and I took it out to the desert 3 times so far. The 2nd time I went riding, the bike just died after about an hour and didn't want to start again. I changed the spark plug, pulled out a screwdriver and played with the carb a lilbit. It fired up and ran fine after that, but it was the end of the day so didn't really get a chance to ride it anymore that day. Last weekend we went out to the desert again. The bike ran strong for about an hour and 1/2, and then the same thing happened again - it just died in the middle of nowhere! I tried to adjust the carb again but it didn't help. Changed the spark plug - and it fired up and ran strong again. I feel like there is something with the carb maybe, but I don't get what's the deal with a new spark plug every 1 hour of riding!!! Anybody??
Hi, Sagi nice novella and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel mixture too rich or enrichner left out too long.
2. Faulty spark plug.
3. Incorrect spark plug for the engine type or service.
4. Piston rings badly worn or broken.
5. Valve guides are badly worn and/or seals worn, crushed or have come off the valve guide and are pumping oil through it.
6. Spark plug cable weak or leaking check for spark jump in the dark.
7. Faulty ignition coil.

yes, you are correct, those are the two pieces that could solve your problem, but i would go first for your cdi, you may choose to have it tested first also, before you jump out to buy a new one.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Offhand, the only factor to be checked that could foul a sparkplug for your bike would be the 2T oil injector/pump. There is too much 2T oil going to the combustion chamber. Either the injector would require restricting or for some reason, there is also 2T oil in the fuel tank (pre-mix).
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Look at the slide needle--'c' clip unbroken and retainer pushed down tight. Has the 'c' clip position been changed? Try a new spark plug.
