SOURCE: left exhaust pipe is turning a gold colour for approxiamtely 12 inches from the engine

It is normal. One cylinder & pipe are a bit hotter than the other. It is not at all unusual to see one pipe discolored more than the other.

try looking for the idle screw in the following place...
standing facing the side of the bike that has the clutch on it.
look in the area between the front cylinder and the rear cylinder, close to the tank.
the screw is black and can be difficult to see.
hope this helps.

Car has a bad ideling. When car idels and u try and remove the oil cap car cuts out. What can be wrong .

hi.it can be a vacuum leak at your brake booster pipes or booster self or intake manifold.it can also be a misfire on a cylinder.if you remove oil cap ideling will change because in newer engine models there must be a certian amount of vacuum inside engine by removing cap its values change.hope this helps

My 1994 buick road master out of California get only 16 MPG. I had a 1992 buick roadmaster out of north carolina that averaged 28 MPG. How do I get the 1994 car to get better gas milage. My machanic say...

Things that can be wrong as long as the car rools fine are the timing chain and exhaust restrictions or leaks. Dirty or leaking fuel injectors can too if the car has good power and doesn't lag at off idel ( like a timing chain loose will do ) oil pressure or too heav oil or oil that hasn't been changed. low tire pressure is worth about 3 MPG Timing chain can be 10 easy as stopped up exhaust. the car runns stronger with the pipes unbolted from the engine then theres a converter or muffler problem. If the pipes are good it'll not make any different except it'll sound like a race car. ( might seem faster but it will be faster if the pipes are stopped up. Race cars go faster with open pipes as the engine has been modifed to run better with open pipes but an ordianry car will have little difference until it's revved up real high.

Bike has cobra pipes, backfires when I let off gas,lot of popping when running steady speed.

Hi Jeffeifs, and the usual suspects are:
1. Loose, corroded, or broken battery cable ends inside the cable harness especially the "NEGATIVE" cable at both ends.
2. A severely drained battery.
3. Faulty main circuit breaker and or connections.
4. Faulty ignition coil and or connections.
5. Faulty spark plug, oil or gas fouled, wrong heat range or service type, wrong gap, loose in the cylinder head, broken electrode or insulator.
6. Faulty spark plug cables, leaking or broken, internal damage.
7. Faulty ignition module, switch, CKP, MAP, CMP, sensor and or any connector in the ignition circuit could have corroded, loose, or broken pins/sockets
8. Burnt exhaust valve or air leak in the exhaust system.

If you went to a less restrictive exhaust and didnt rejet and the bike is popping its running to lean. Need to rejet the carbs when you open up the exhaust.

I have a 95 Kawasaki Vulcan 800. Here lately I just can't get it to act right. I keep having a problem with lots of raw gas pouring out of the exhaust pipes. I have had the carb professionally cleaned...

Sounds like the carb has not been cleaned properly, gas overflow like that could be caused from a worn seat/needle. Did you put after market exhaust on it?
