SOURCE: replace rear brake pads

Remove right saddlebag, pull the two caliper mounting bolts and remove the caliper. Do not open bleeder or disconnect line. You will need to push a large screwdriver between the old pads before removing them in order to push the pucks back into the caliper or the new pads will not spread enough to reinstall. Then pull the two smaller bolts from the caliper and the pads will fall out. The pads are different for inside and outside, so pay attention, and remember, after reinstalling, before riding, be sure to pump brake pedal, and it may take a few stops before brakes stop as effectively as before.

SOURCE: Dyna Wide Glide Rear Tire

i called a place ( hogpro.com) about wheels for my 07 fxdwg and talked to the guy there. he said a 180 will fit with no problems and a 200 will fit in the swingarm and fender, you just have to center the wheel and deal with the turn signal brackets etc. Does anyone know where i can get a set of rear struts that are just plain with no recess for the turn signals that will bolt on to the stock bike? I am gonna try the 200/55-18 this winter on a 18x 5.5" wheel.

How do i talk off my old grips?

Right grip will come off when brake perch and switch housing comes off. Left grip is usually glued on and when clutch perch and switch housing is removed it is usually cut off but if a screw driver is worked down inside of the rubber grip and some brake kleen sprayed in between the screwdriver and the grip and the screwdriver is wiggled and worked around the rubber grip will usually come off undamaged.

How do you replace rear pads 2005 dyna glide

Hi Anonymous, it can be done with out removing the rear wheel or any brake lines, or any bleeding of brakes, all you need is a c-clamp and regular hand tools. First place a drain pan underneath the rear master cylinder, it's likely to overflow during the piston push back procedure, and remove the top and accordion rubber gasket and compress gasket back to it's flatest position then put it back on top of the master cylinder leaving the metal cover off. Next split the caliper halves by removing the 3 bolts and pay close attention to small o-ring so it doesn't get lost and location and orientation of the anti rattle clips. Leave the old brake pads in.Take your c-clamp and position it so that the screw part is dead center of the old pad and slowly tighten the clamp until the old pads have pushed the pistons back into the caliper half and the pad bottoms out. Repeat the process with the other caliper half. Install the new brake pads, replace o-ring and anti rattle clips and bolt the halves back toghther, torque bolts to 20 ft lbs. Check fluid level and replace top cover on master cylinder. Pump the brake by hand until you get a nice strong pedal and your good to go. Good luck
