Honda vt125 fuse problems - 2006 Honda VT 125 Shadow

The Main 30 Amp fuse in the ignition solenoid keeps popping. There is no power at all to the bike due to this. I have checked all connections, bulbs etc and cant see anything that would be causing this. All other fuses on the bike are ok. I have even tried changing the ignition solenoid just in case but it is still blowing the main fuse. Any ideas? Thanks

2006 Honda VT 125 Shadow quit running while riding

Hi, Tom and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries.
2. Failed alternator/generator and or voltage regulator.
3. Loose or corroded battery terminals and or cables especially the "NEGATIVE" cable, look for loose, corroded, or broken connectors inside the cable harness at "BOTH" ends.
4. Failed main circuit breaker or ignition switch, check for loose connections and continuity.
5. Failed system and or ignition relay, check for continuity.
6. Failed ignition coil, stator, magneto, ignition/electronic module.
7. Failed CKP, CPS, CMP, MAP, TPS, or BAS sensor, corroded, loose or broken wire connector pins/sockets.
8. Throttle cables and or idle speed improperly adjusted hot idle speed should be 950 RPM to 1000 RPM.
9. Faulty neutral, side stand or clutch lever safety switch.
10. Air/fuel mixture screw improperly adjusted.
11. Accelerator pump damaged or not working.
12. Water or dirt in the fuel system, carburetor or filter.
13. Restricted, blocked or kinked fuel line.
14. Fuel tank empty.
15. The gas cap is not venting properly or fuel tank venting system blocked.
16. A failed fuel pump, pressure regulator and or fuel injectors.
17. Vacuum line from intake manifold to petcock broken, cracked, or not attached, carburetor vent line plugged.
18. Needle and seat stuck closed in the float bowl.
19. Lean angle switch is faulty or needs adjustment.

Hi, after just rebuilding my honda vt125, i find that the rear brake pedal doen't work the brake light... am i being blonde or is there something i have missed?... can't see any wires or connectors...

locate the wires that go to the switch which is just by the brake pedal disconnect them, and with ignition on touch them together, this should put brake light on, if not you have a wiring fault before the switch, if the light comes on then it is switch problem. could just need adjusting to suit the pedal travel.

My 05 honda accord sun roof wont open

The sunroof on your Honda may not be operating correctly. The most common problems with Honda's sunroofs is the track. This is especially true of early 1990s Honda vehicles. However, many Hondas use a recessed track that easily collects and traps dirt and debris. When this happens, your sunroof may not close and seal properly. Another minor problem is a blown fuse on some model years of Honda vehicles. Before fixing anything, however, troubleshoot the problem.
  1. Open the fuse panel. Turn the knob on the fuse panel cover counterclockwise or push in on the release tabs on the fuse panel cover (depending on the year of your Honda), and pull down on the fuse panel cover.
  2. Pull the fuse for the sunroof out of the fuse panel using the fuse pullers in the fuse panel. Use the diagram on the underside of the fuse panel cover if you are having trouble locating the fuse for the sunroof.
  3. Check the metal strip in the middle of the fuse. The strip should not be burned or damaged. If it is, replace it with a fuse of the same amperage.
  4. Check the recessed track of your sunroof. Clear away any debris that may be stuck in the sunroof's track. Use engine degreaser and a wire brush to clean the track of dirt. Then, wipe the track down with clean paper towels.
  5. Apply hard grease to the sunroof wheels and track so that the sunroof can move easily once again.
Best regards.

Moving to a location with access to leaded fuel and diesel only. Will Honda VT125 Shadow run okay on leaded fuel?

Yes, it will run good on leaded fuel. As a matter of fact, you will probably notice that it runs cooler than with the unleaded fuel.

Won't start after winter

Big explosion was probably from a large amount of gas that ran into the exhaust system and then ignited when you started the bike again. There probably is gunk from sitting in the carb. If you can't find them, then you probably should not disassemble them by yourself. It should not cost to much for a dealer to clean it for you.
