SOURCE: Scooter won't start

Check for spark. I am going to assume that spark is present
Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Is there any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Is there any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ).

Drain the carburetor. There may be a screw on the lower side of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carb to fill with gas. Install a new stock NGK spark plug and try to start the engine. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetor from the engine.

Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the carb. Remove the idle screw and the air screw on the outside throat of the
carb and spray into the screw holes as well.

Be sure to put these two screws back in the same hole they came out of. IMPORTANT > do not tighten these two adjusters down. Only screw these in until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each adjuster one and one half turns outward. Put the rest of the
carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. This process should get you back on the road.

When I took off the governor on my 2009 Honda metropolitan scooter CHF 50 , I took it for a test drive, but it went slower, did I remove the right thing ?

Hi, Michael for this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary transport your vehicle to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your issue. For more information about your issue please visit the website below. Good luck and have a nice day.

Usually there is a small slot beneath the speedo. It's just big enough for the key to fit in. Slide the key into the slot . You'll feel a little pressure because it's pushing in the reset switch.

Require year of manufacture of two bikes... honda eng No C70E-11685 chassis No C70-C013741. Honda eng No C90E-3127157 chassis No C90-S127149 Appreciate any help...

Hello,

The chassis number(s) will not give the year of the bikes. The engine number(s) will give the year and location made of the engine only. This information would have to be obtained from the manufacturer.

The only way to determine the year of the bike(s) is to use the VIN number. The VIN number is 17 characters long and is usually located on the front of the frame.

This site, VIN Look-up, will give you all the information you need on your bikes.

Hope this helps and if you find this post useful, please vote. Thank You.

Regards,

Oz
