SOURCE: 1974 honda cb550 will not run?

• The first thing to do with ANY engine that has sat for any longer than a couple of months is to dump ALL the fuel in the tank and carb(s). ALL OF IT !! You'll want to refill with some high priced fuel that has fuel system cleaners (Like Chevron with Techron) not becasue you need high-test fuel, but because you need the cleaners. It's ether that or disassemble the carbs and clean out jets you can't find much less see. Your choice. The carb kits alone will cost you about $50 so a tank of high-test is looking pretty good, huh?

• Now the fact that you tried to crank the engine with old fuel has fouled the sparkplugs. All of them. Go buy all new sparkplugs.

Check that the carburetor is getting ample supply of fuel from the tank. Sometimes a clogged tank vent or partially blocked petcock(causing slow flow) can cause symptoms similar to yours.

SOURCE: 1974 honda scrambler wont kick start their is

You have probably sheered off the teeth that engage the kick start with the gearbox, else ( more commonly ) the spline in the kickstart lever has worn out and is slipping on the input shaft.
You should still be able to bump start your bike ( in second) .
All the relevant broken bits are on the right side of the engine, I would remove the kick start lever and remove the right crankcase cover for a look.
You should still be able to get bits for your bike, they are getting collectable and some parts interchange across models.

1974 honda 550 four will not start no fire to the plugs

Make sure you have a fully charged battery. The ignition system on a Honda draws it's power from the battery not the charge coils. Start by replacing your points and condenser. You probably have shorted or grounded points which translate to no spark at the plug. New spark plugs and spark plug caps (caps unscrew off of the end of the wire) will also increase the efficiency of the spark.

1977 YAMAHA MX 400 weak spark from cdi ing i put yz 426 f because there is not a mx in the hole list

Hi, Weszz3 there is no such thing as a weak spark even though dozens of riders will swear that's what they have and are dying to show you, the bottom line is either you have spark or don't have spark there is no in between.
You won't see a dirtbike spark really well, and people only look at it when they have a problem. It is designed to fire under extreme pressure (13:1 compression) and is very robust, but it is not a 1mm bright blue line jumping across a spark plug. It can be white and very hard to see. If you are confident you have weak or no spark prove it by holding the plug in your hand and stark kicking you will be in for a "SHOCKING" surprise!!!!!
60% of these bikes have a flooding issue and/or a fouled plug. 30% need valves adjusted and most of the remaining 10% are something simple in the electrics like a broken kill switch, bad earth on the battery or dead battery, wiring at the steering head damaged or blown fuse.

How much is one valued at with uder 100 miles in mint condition

Your best bet is to put it on Ebay. The bike was $850 new. I would set a reserve at $400 and let the bidders determine the value. Chances are a collector or avid Honda guy would love to have the bike. The only problem with the bike is the lack of repair parts for future needs. If you post the bike for sale, be sure to sell it "as is - where is". The buyer should make any shipping arrangements. If you do the arrangements you are liable until the bike gets to the buyer. CASH ONLY, NO CHECKS, MONEY ORDERS or BANK DRAFTS. Bike does not leave your possession until payment in full is received. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

My 1974 Yamaha 250 Enduro wont start I have cleaned and redone the carb. I have changed the coil pack and spark plug. Any suggestions will help Im not a mechanic by any means so not sure where to start...

you need good compression ( at least 90 psi , kicking it with the throttle open) , good crankshaft seals for sucking the fuel/air into the botton end, proper point gap and timing set for spark ( spark should be big and fat,if not the source coil is weak,, this is a flywheel magnito ignition and it needs no battery to fire the plug) if you clean the carb, make sure you also clean the choke pickup tube or it wont choke. also make sure you have the slide installed in the right direction ( not backwards and the idle is not set too high at first...compression/****-good spark at the right time-proper fuel/air ratio and it will run

Engines don't run because they either have no gas in the combustion chamber or no spark to ignite it. So determine which is missing.

First, validate that you have a spark at the spark plugs

If you pull the plugs again, you can not only check for spark, but see if they are 'wet' from getting gas.

But most likely, your problem may be associated with the carburetors - sitting for long period turns the gas to varnish and they are probably gummed up.
Solution is to strip and clean them.
